What EXACTLY do I need for Rear discs

Why exactly do you need to do this? The stock rear drums are very good, and the FJ60 is a pretty lightwieght truck.

Plus, you're probably going to give up your e-brake to get rear discs. Not a good trade, in my estimation. But I don't have a 60 anymore, so I am unqualified to comment.

Well I'm not sure if 60 are lightweight but rear drums are really bad brakes in my rig .. not sure if are to old .. or simple not safe or ready for big tires .. as I have.

But I thought rear disk are the way ..

I also thought that the read drums where a good brake when working right. Although they seemed to eat parts a lot .....too much ( pads, springs, wheel cylinders grrrr) they leaked on to the pads and made this goop that would almost inable them.

I switch to the 80s MC, 4 runnner calipers, and rear discs and have not looked back.

I believe if you use Eldorado calipers, you can retain the e-brake. I havent done rear disks on a 60, but it is an easy job on a 40. The 40 has the t-case e-brake though.

Check the search function, I think Spook50 just did rear disks on his rig.

The e-brake cable join and routing in a SO 60 is a little more complicated .. but no imposible .. here are a lots of info about my e-brake setup ( not the best ) with TSM rear disc kit.
