We put a new Toyota short block, and timing set in. ARP head studs and a Cometic MLS head gasket. Otherwise stock motor. We're still working on the overall build so it hasn't gone back to daily driver status yet.

Outside of replacing an existing engine; Would you have recommendation as to what to test or check for anyone who maybe considering installing a turbo or blower on an existing engine?
What would you consider a 'deal breaker' which may or would prevent the addition of a turbo or blower to a motor?

It's hard to say. A lot of it is going to depend on how the engine was maintained. I'd do a cylinder leak down test to rule out sealing issues.
