Wow
Honestly do some research on 40s before you buy or you will get burned
Lots of ruined 40s that are way over priced and almost worthless
You mentioned you don't know much

Overton hit the nail on the head
And he knows !

Going to depend greatly on your planned use for the truck and whether or not you care about originality. I'm not a fan of SBC conversions either. FWIW, that's not a truck I would buy.

Also, the seller has ZERO feedback, so it's a gamble, even there.

Like i said, I know nothing on 40's, Barely know my 100. I would like to see some out there, for sale, that you all like. Are there any for sale on Ebay (i doubt it), or on here?

Mine is for sale on the forum and on eBay... and it's under-priced if that one is a $25k truck from what I can see. Not saying I'm under priced though.

I agree with the rest though, until you know something about 40's, and what you want to get out of the experience of owning one, I'd hold off and learn a bunch more. The ownership experience can vary widely depending on the truck you get, and if that experience isn't what you want after you buy one (and you may not know what you want yet knowing little about them) that would be an expensive mistake. Getting it right is just so much fun though.

I bought my first one 13 years ago the same way you are looking... didn't know anything at all other than I wanted one, bought something cool off eBay and I got really lucky... but many don't. tread carefully!

Here's a pretty reasonable 1977 I have on consignment. It's in WI and I will be headed up there tomorrow for some smallmouth fishing with the owner. I'll get more photos, drive her and return with more details. Not a perfect but a nice truck for the money.

Only a deal if the driver comes with it...
