Update on my 3rd Gen Sequoia (2024). It is at the dealer (over night right now) again for the door rattle, this is the 3rd visit for this issue. I spoke with a very kind and understanding Toyota corporate rep a couple times and he recommended I look into NC Lemon Law, just in case.

What's the door rattle? Is it the trim clips getting weak and the panel rattles, or? I haven't yet noticed this on my 2023 and wondering what I'm missing.

So "rattle" is just the best word I can think to describe it. It's not a metal on metal screeching rattle or anything. Honestly, it sounds like the door isn't secure and is shifting around on the weatherstripping.

I've seen TRD Jon show the exact same rattle in his Tundra -

Another update, got the Sequoia back yesterday after 3 days at the dealer. The tech admitted that the door was out of alignment and should have been caught. All seems to be fixed, for now.

With that said, lead tech I talked to said the TNGA platform vehicles have experience a lot more issues than they expect from Toyota. He said a lot of the brand new Sequoia/Tundra’s are requiring completely new door weatherstripping due to wind and road noise. He mentioned there are other issues as well but wouldn’t go into detail.

Swapped out the oem fogs with Diode

Just a shade under a decade, but I finally got some tires put on. Haha. It took 51 days from order to arrival and got them mounted 2 days later. Costco won't put them on so I had to take them off and bring the loose wheels in. But they're finally on. Balance was just okay. They all took about 4-5 ounces of weight. More than some AT tires in similar size I've had.

295/70/18 Michelin defender 2 on stock wheels. Minor trimming on factory splash guard (I can't really call it a skid plate when I can cut it with tin snips). Otherwise no mods or cutting at all. No need to remove mud flaps or the front flaps. No rubbing at all so far.

TBH I thought they'd look a little bigger, but they look like they should be OEM size. I'm happy. It's a mostly street truck anyway. Mpg hit is TBD.

Stock vs 295. Both Michelin defenders.

The R1 concepts wore out in just a year!!!

Next time you need pads, give Porterfield R4S pads a try. They're a street/autox compound and have great cold bite, and will last forever. Not sure if they make them for your truck but if they do, put them at the top of your list if whatever you just installed doesn't work out.

Thanks for the recommendation. I’m not hating on the R1s. The bite is insane but I’m just disappointed on a year. Might be the heavy 37s and towing 🤣

Decided to sell it.

I still need to do all the hard work but the mental decision is done.
My leg going numb every 10 miles today pretty much sold me on it. Then my GF complaining she couldn’t get comfy sold the deal.

This all over spending 3 hours in the truck today.

It’s to the point Id rather take the built 300k mile Landcruiser instead of the minty TRD Pro Tundra,

So if anyone is looking or knows anyone who wants a 9/10 2016 TRD Pro crew max with 100k on it just reach out.

Crazy that your Land Cruiser is more comfortable than your tundra. But your body knows best. Sell it and get a LC200 😉
