With the warm weather in the Midwest this weekend, I gave mine a bath after installing my front bumper, winch and 315/75/16 Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs a few weekends ago.

That color looks great! Is that an OEM 80 color. Very clean.

When did you get your MTRs!!??? I was told they were in Stock last week and then this week when I actually ordered them they were out of stock. Blah.

What bumper is that? I have a Slee on my truck now and have really liked it, but it took a big hit and I could fix it or get a new one, but I might try something else. Such a gamble because I know the Slee is a great bumper and well made, but just like being married to a super model your eye kind of wanders. lol.

LOL scottryana. I believe its the new 4x4labs. Not my truck though.

I agree it is ..but I think it leaves a lot of open sheet metal in a vulnerable spot. Just IMO

Thanks! Yep, sure is.

I ordered mine from Discounttiredirect.com after they beat another company's price. Surprisingly, they arrived in two days. So far, so good.

It's the new 4x4 Labs front bumper. I asked Luke to add the horizontal bar in front of the winch mounting area.

Correct. =)
Hmmmm I think you are right. That is kind of sexy

There are multiple versions floating around. Luke has been great to work with on this bumper, and was open to some seemingly-one-off requests.

Parts of the lower radiator support hang down due to the clearance the bumper affords. Some have cut it, resulting in very impressive clearance. '93-94 models have the a/c dryer to contend with. I haven't done anything with my radiator support or dryer just yet.

More pics of the bumper and tires:

Installed a 12" electric fan, rewired my horn so I have a horn now! Then I tried to get up to Jaws 1 on the Mt. Blanca trail. Barely got into the canyon before the trail was impassable. Here are the picts.

Drivers side tire is about an inch off the ground here.

I meant more so the front of the fender. Just dug through some old photos. You can see the mangled end of my flimsy ARB. It still saved my whole front half of fender though. That's after I bent it semi back into place. It was creased and bent right over. Never hit the fender.

Yeah, it's hard to compare it with the ARB, which is what I had before. The ARB certainly has a larger "footprint" on the front of the 80, but is made of thinner metal. The 4x4 Labs bumper wraps around a bit, though.

I think of the ARB as a good expedition bumper and the labs as a more serious dedicated wheeling bumper. Both are good for their (assumed) purposes.

I
What lift / Shocks are you using @leonard_nemoy ? Looks like you've got more down travel then me.
The po just told me it had ome 850/863 springs. I am not sure which are in the rear. The rear shocks are procomp and hopefully fox soon.

Thats a good explanation of the two. I also feel the ARB is a great bumper because it takes a beating although bending easy. The bending is really softening the force to the frame/drivetrain. It could use a little trimming on the bottom for more clearance and def in the future for my bent up lower sections. Once its bent too bad to look at I'll either cut it up into something else or buy another arb to start fresh.

But I do really like the look of the LABS bumper. makes the 80's look mean from the front. I have the rear Labs bumper and really like it.
