Just the rantings of an internet rando... Re: the "brain" under your driver's seat... pull it. That port-installed alarm system will almost certainly cause problems... crank/no start. Track all connections from the brain to its final connection directly under the steering wheel (right at the top of the column) and remove the wiring. Be sure to plug all connections back in to the loom/harness in the a-pillar and kick panel.
I've been holding onto these leather seats from a 2005 Saab / subaru wrx for about 7 years. I finally got of my butt and and swapped them into my 97 with the rails from my 91 manual cloth seats that had no foam left.
It was a bit harder than I thought but I made it work and it turned out great. They sit a little higher than I am used to but I think they will be fine. I am 6'1" and I got about 1.5-2" of head room. I might bump my head occasionally but it might help me drive slower offroad

I just replaced my old OME stabilizer with a new OME unit. Old one had ~60k miles, it was toast. New made a noticeable difference. SLEE had them in stock, a couple others were out of stock when I was buying.

That clamp on the tie rod is not in the correct place. It should be at the end of the tie rod to lock the rod end threads in place. There's a chance the threads are wallowed out now if it's been that way for a while... I'd address that ASAP.
Drove it from Mesa az to Vegas. Did very well the fan clutch mod and the aux fan. A/c was like a fridge in there. Still getting some pressure in the fuel tank. Even with a rebuilt canister with the bb removed though. But seems nowhere near as bad as before.

WKOF sliders for the 80 shipping next week... super stoked. I should have time to get them painted and installed before the annual Kentucky Toyota Trail Ride on the Daniel Boone Back Country Byway (Slade, KY) later in July.
BTW if any of you all are near enough, or have an inclination to hang out with a bunch of good people, the KYTLCA sponsors the event. It's a very good time. Trails range from still-maintained (but disused mining roads) to much more extreme stuff.

My wife's going to be piloting us on this outing. This will be her second time driving. So, we'll likely take it pretty easy.
Started the summer road trip. Phase 1 is a "sprint" to Albuquerque then we can take it slow from there and start the trip for real. Still considering heading up to Prudhoe Bay but that will likely mean parking up somewhere for a week to meet work commitments.
Rolled through 340,000 miles this morning. Next milestone opportunity will be 345,678 but i will miss that for sure. Will definitely have rolled through 350k by the time i get back to Florida.

I only have an issue when I use gas with Ethanol in it. Try none Ethanol gas these old tractor motors weren't made for that

I only run ethanol free in my old F150, and the fuel economy improvement pays for the difference in price. Id do the same in my 80, if not for the supercharger, and it being all but impossible to get ethanol free 91.I only have an issue when I use gas with Ethanol in it. Started running 90 octane pure gas in our 80 (that's the only option available locally). I've got to say, the old engine purrs on the pure stuff.

Can't recall if I shared this with you before (sorry if I did), but one of the best gatherings happens in December. Also at the Gorge. We head there after work on Friday (some folks get there on Thursday and wheel all day Friday), have dinner with the group and wheel on Saturday. Small group... mostly 80s. I'd highly recommend it.
