You know someone who fixes OEM head units? I have a 91 OEM Headunit I need serviced but can't find anyone to help restore it. Powers on but not functioning properly.
Since you're in Houston, I'd search for an old school audio shop that specializes in restorations of vintage audio equipment (home and auto). You're bound to have at least a few to choose from. Sorry that I don't have any specific shop to recommend to you.

went to the 30th annual Toyota Fest in Long Beach

DM me if you can't find someone locally.

@medaliatx he ^ knows what he's doing. Check out the home audio dorkout thread in chat and you'll see some of it.

Turns out I am not installing a wholesale auto valve body. They don't have cores and I'm not taking my 80 off the road for however long it takes to send my vb to Australia and back.

What's frustrating is they charged me 3 weeks ago for $1800. Waited 3 weeks to tell me the parts aren't available and it's going to be 5-10 days before I see a refund.

Thanks for sharing. I don’t have any experience with them, but after watching their YouTube nomad versus xtreme valve body video I wasn’t inspired. Maybe I missed it, but it seems like they are swapping out a few orings and sometimes a few doodads and charging high prices because they have the market niche.

They include a 3rd gear lock up. But I'm not installing it because you can't get one anymore for the hydro a442 without sending them your vb first. I don't have the month plus they want it for my 80 series to sit idle in the shop.

Did you work directly with Wholesale Auto out if AU?

Would a TransGo shift kit work in lieu of this? Pretty straightforward install...
