Nice! I am a Shiba owner since 2001. My first Shiba lived to be 18, I took a break and am now on my 2nd Shiba. The first Shiba was also well traveled having been by land to Panama and back twice!

They are fantastic dogs for the right people. They also go real well with Land Cruisers. Mine is with me 24/7 365.

Installed the Window Rocket! Amazing. Well designed, beefy build, easy to install, and solid installation instructions. Crazy difference.

I didn’t get a chance to measure before and after voltage to the motors since I have the doors sound deadened with tons of sticky Dynamat and didn’t really want to pull apart.

These windows have been opening and closing for me now for 32 years! This truck has brought my 3 kids home from hospital, those three learned to drive in it and now it’s back to my daily driver. Amazing truck.

Also touched up a little rust I saw when I removed the trim. Down to bare metal, Eastwood rust encapsulation and will finish with a good primer, color and clear coat.

I bought one!
Been on and off searching for an 80's series for a little bit. Told myself I'd only buy a nice original, rust free southern/western example.

So I did the exact opposite and bought a modified, crusty, and has been sitting for a while example. Triple locked 96, 250k, good bones, but all it needs is everything. Got the seller down to a "content with" price, and only 5 hrs away so I can't complain.

How rusty is she? I think this weekend isn’t over yet take some glam shots of the underbelly!

Cleaned up the pistons for my rebuild/refresh project by soaking them in simplegreen pro HD. They came out looking great. Considering sending them off to a cerakote place in Houston. Valve job is done and the head is ready to go. Block is scheduled to be done this week and have 2 parts orders set to arrive by Wednesday.

A heat reducing cerakote? I know in the past there has been a bronze/goldish color applied to the tops of pistons that helped keep temps down.

Shake down will probably be around the block 🤣😂

Spent a couple of days camping in northern Georgia. Good opportunity to perform some field trials on my new DIY roof rack and a few other mods. It howls like some spooky zombie if i go over 65mph or have a crosswind. Need to figure out some fluid dynamic solutions for that.
The rear shocks (OME 60020) are tired and goodness knows how old. I need to replace them with something suitable before the next big trip to the west coast in July.

Where in GA is this? I need a get-out-of-FL trip and this looks great!

Had my dealership buddy run a carfax on the 96.
Looks like I'm owner # 4. Lived in Nevada from 96-05, went to CA to a dealership I suspect, got sent to NJ from 07-18, and then lived in NY from 18 until 23 when it was parked.
That explains the overall condition. Crusty, but not "lived it's entire life in the rust belt" crusty.

How rusty is she? I think this weekend isn’t over yet take some glam shots of the underbelly!
Typical rust belt sitting crust. Not awful, not great.

I would like to ask mud's help in identifying the sliders, skid and rear bumper. I suspect this was built pre 06 so maybe some old parts on it?
The front bumper is easy, an ARB winch bumper with a Warn M12000. I think the front bumper is the most rotted part of the truck, can't believe how bad it is. I can save it, but I never knew ARB stuff could rot that bad.

Slider's are welded on. Seem pretty heavy duty and have certainly seen some action.

Rear bumper has nothing but a tire swing. It doesn't use the typical trailer spindle for the swing, so I'm not sure what bumper it is?

I assume the trans/transfer case/crossmember skid is also aftermarket.
