How long did that take ya? Can you feel a difference?
Maybe a couple of hours each side. Its not complicated unless you make it so. Unbolt the fan shroud and the top radiator hoses and the rest is just straightforward

What kind of mileage do you have on your rig? I'm guessing a mix of age and mileage leads to the compression. I've got really low miles, but you have me thinking I'll have to take a look tomorrow and see what mine look like.
I did the mounts on my '96 earlier this year which has 333k on the dial. The old mounts were like charcoal. My '95 which i did last week has about 250k. Some but not all of the mounts i removed were still somewhat subtle but completely colapsed. Not sure why there was a difference between the two trucks.
With that much compression did you find any of the hardware lose ?
None of the hardware was loose due to the lock nuts but i could swivel some of the mounts with my fingers. 30 years old rubber only goes one way.

Did you have to loosen the steering shaft?

Picked up a couple blocks and a new head.

I’m biased… lol. But yes, there’s lots to see here.

The first time I wheeled properly was with Rick Allen…. Also at the DBBB. We ended up in the hard core corner straight away… lol.

There’s also the Kentucky Adventure Tour which goes through Harlan and deep Appalachian country.

Dude, go check it out. You won’t regret it.
Thanks for the info Sir!!!

New wheel and tire day

Have you had the R/T Pros out yet? Thoughts? Volume at highway speeds?

I am trying to decide between Toyo R/T Pros or Toyo M/Ts on Method Bead Grip 703s… 17x9 -12 or 17x8.5 0… probably Bronze, maybe Matte Black…

Leaning towards R/T Pros I think. All the trails are between 1-2 hour away… that’s a lot of highway speeds for M/Ts…

Anyone had both Toyo M/Ts and R/T Pros? Thoughts? Comments?

Had to chainsaw the largest tree I have had to do so far today… was about 16” across (only have Ego electric 18” saw. It was about 4-5’ off the ground. Wasn’t easy, but cleared and opened up a campsite and some big hills to play on. I would guess at least a year closed off.

Also thanks to this, learned my winch doesn’t actually work very well. Was going to pull the log up and out of the narrow area, but it would just spin. About a 13-14 year old Warn M8000, could probably fix it… but think I would just like a Warn Xeon XD ??-S instead.

I have the RT Pros and love them. Running a 35. I don’t find the noise bothersome at all. I actually find them quieter than ATs I ran on my 100 series. Happy with off-road and road performance. I’ve never owned an MT, so can’t compare from that standpoint.

I also have a 10.5k Warn Xeon-S and I’m happy with that as well. Was snug to put inside my ARB bumper, but it worked with a small spacer on the feet.

So far I also love them. I've only gotten them up to like 60 mph once and you could hear them a little bit but not bad at all, just sounds like an AT. Coming from a worn KM3 the difference in noise is comical, I forgot that wind noise is a thing.

And being in FL where I have to drive hours for anything, the MTs just didn't make sense
