The panhard bracket totally different story, it put up quite the fight, and it was getting late, so I just waked away from it and Ill get back at it in the morning.

For those of you that done it in a garage, any tips or tricks to get those bolts lined up?

Big a$$ pipe wrench on the panhard bar with a cheater pipe if needed.

I don't remember it being any more of a bastard than other suspension projects, but leverage bars, center punches, etc. always come in handy! One thing that I can promise though, you'll be thoroughly pleased with the end results!

Use a ratchet strap to pull things into alignment

Rear panned, I had to get the rear spring to be nearly slack and use a pry bar to get the offending coil out of the way enough to get the bolt in. Took about 90mins if remember correctly

But the bolt from the stock panhard location is in
The bolt the goes true the bracket and rear up arm is half way in, but coming out it is not lining up, the bracket hole and rear upper bracket hole ate aligning, but the bolt coming out of the bushing is not.
I tried using a ratchet strap to bring the axle back, forward and sideways and nothing seams to work

“New” steering wheel from a Lexus LS400 is in. The color matches much better than this picture makes it seem. Both the horn pad and wheel could probably use a good deep clean.

Oil & filter and general checkover this weekend.
Found a polaroid picture at home from not long after we bought our 80 with my dog Scamp lying beside it,
Unfortunately he's no longer here but was a great dog and a big sook when we'd go camping. As soon as it got dark he'd be in the tent and refused to come out till the sun came back up!

New pads and repacking bearings. Going to try the Trail-Gear spindle nut kit for giggles. My last 80 already had these installed and seemed pretty slick. For the record I've never had any issues on all three of my 80s and two 100s with bearings loosening up. I do like the reusability of this kit versus the mangled star locking washers after awhile. We'll see.

Got the Trail-Gear spindle locking nuts on. I'm not sold on them. Required some filing of the top nub on the locking ring. They'll work just fine however.

You could try further unloading the suspension to get that bolt through.

Lift the frame up, and/or let the axle droop further. That should help with the alignment. Pulling the spring also makes it easier.

ive always wondered why Toyota didnt adopt the same locking mechanism as the rear wheel bearing adjusters on the front.

next time i repack mine am going to see if theres the possibility to do so

Today I discovered that my LX has the speedo corrected, somehow. I've been blocking traffic for two years, thinking the speedo was off by 7%!!

So what do I look for? Is there some kind of electronic doohickey or an old-fashioned gear?

Drove her for the first time in awhile. Got a clunk in tight turns from the rear so tried tightening the bolt on the delta panhard bracket. Clunk is still there sometimes in tight turns. Maybe panhard bushings.
Went to target and got the last parking spot left. Then had to wash all the salt off.

Depends, this is the correction I have and it plugs into the TC
