Just got back from another awesome trip to the Philippines. Saw tons of awesome Toyota diesels, including many Land Cruisers. Seems like every time I saw an 80 series, it was too late to snap a pic, but I did get a few. I'll share as soon as I have a chance.

As for my 80 series... the part time 4wd kit has been added, and this week it will get a new 3" stainless exhaust. Looking forward to putting some miles on the freshly rebuilt 1HDFT.

Ripped up over Granite Pass to Parkman for our monthly LCWY get together. Then home over Powder River Pass at sundown. Wind was horrible but brought warmer weather with it at least.

Got the IronMan branded monster winch installed. Bought the wire rope model as the synthetic was out of stock. We’ll use the metal for a while, but I’m planning to swap in synthetic before too long. Wires in the pics are all tucked away now.

Looking at that view and thinking.. high beams fighting back at the sun, oil pressure very good, charge light is on and then I am like HOLY CRAP his D light is on! So that is what that looks like!!!

I'm after illuminated "D" too... :grinpimp:

Joking aside, I've got to take care of the dash lighting. It would be lovely to have those indicators working properly.

Today I discovered that my LX has the speedo corrected, somehow. I've been blocking traffic for two years, thinking the speedo was off by 7%!!

So what do I look for? Is there some kind of electronic doohickey or an old-fashioned gear?
You can buy the gear from toyota with different a tooth count to adjust. That is what I did. There is a thread around here with the part numbers paired with the relative size of tire.

If you happen upon it again, please share. I've been looking for anything other than the Lutz gizmo, and I've found nothing.

Google is your friend

Google is not my friend.

At this point, it doesn't matter. The Lutz box ought to correct around whatever gear/tire/ring options i end up with in the future, so if the speedo gear was changed, I'm not going to undo it. Right?

Lutz is great and easily adjusted, like when you go up to 37’s. A few clicks and you’re done.

33403-69225 corrects for 33’s. But so far reading you need to do more for 35’s

The Lutz speedo calibrator is great. It's so easy.

I've also got a Yellow Box speedo calibration. It was frustrating to setup and I couldn't get it to work right. I ended up removing it.
