Afternoon Mud :flipoff2:

Snow Wheeling and Camping in the Eldarado Forest followed by snowboarding at Sierra at Tahoe opening day.

This trip got me thinking............ I can't say I have wanted or needed a rooftop tent. In my mind It's always sorta been "to much weight on roof" or I don't really"need" it.

Solo I sleep in the 80 and with the wife and kids it's a tent or tent and kids in the 80 but this trip I was envious of the rooftop tent and electric blankets my buddies had :hillbilly:

Do you have a rooftop tent on your 80? Do you regret it?

I'm always jealous of the convenience. I'm not jealous of the fact they become trail groomers up here in the NW where everything is overgrown.

No RTT for me.

Got an volt/amp meter to hook up on secondary battery to measure amp draw and voltage.

Installed 3” Icon, replaced all the bushings w/ super pro polys, Slee’s DIY adjustable panhards front and rear, new Toyo’s on powder coated 4Runner rims. Seems to go down the road nice, needs an alignment, but very happy w/ the upgrades. Order some White Knuckle sliders and Raptor to spray on them.

What’s the price on that airbox?

Disregard, found it.

With it bolted in does it hook up to the factory fender intake?
I'm not sure. Maybe the manufacturers would know. Everytime I've seen this airbox, it's attached to an aftermarket snorkel.

Sharp looking bunper

Pieced together a OME 850/860 lift with L shocks, huge thanks to @matzell for the front springs and @S.CarolinaFZJ80 for the L shocks  . Truck sits pretty level and overall im very pleased with the ride. With that said i think anything would have been better than the tired suspension i pulled out of it.

Was gonna bring it into the garage to work on but the spring broke on the garage door when I went to open it. Yay! $700 sudden expense!
So I washed it. 🤷‍♂️View attachment 3185264

Which lift / tires did you go with?

Have you installed yet?
Hey, I finally got around to taking some pictures. When I stopped through Park City on my way south Gene, the owner of Rocky Road, was there and waiting for me. He had me pull my truck into his shop and got down on his back right beside me to help me get these damn things installed. I'm actually really impressed with the build quality. One thing I will note is that these are made specifically for the FZJ80 and there are some dimensions that are slightly different on the FJ80 from 91 and 92. Gene was not aware of this as he's never received any complaints and he's so rarely makes them for the FJ80. While we were installing, he took some notes to make sure that any of the kits going out the door for an FJ80 versus an FZJ80 will be trimmed in all the appropriate places for seamless fit.

Which lift / tires did you go with?
Have had many lift set-ups over the years, but current setup is:
Dobinsons 222v/223v springs. (2” lift)
Dobinsons 0-3” MRR shocks
Delta 3” arms
Delta rear panhard drop bracket
Dobinsons rear adj UCA
Dobinsons front and rear adj panhard.
Landtank extended rear LCA
Stock sway bars
35” Falken Wild PeakAT3 on stock wheels
No bump stop extensions yet as I am trying to trim where needed then add extensions as needed.
Half this stuff is not needed for a 2” lift, but was part of an attempt to cure driveline vibrations when the lift was higher.
