Spent some time at the lake. Received a compliment?? "I love that Toyota. It's awesome. What is it, a 4 Runner?"

No, it's a Jeep Rover.
"Rav4, extended cab." Lol I read that on here years ago and it always makes me chuckle.

I have abused these things relentlessly since I got them.my new @bhicks Cupholder was delivered a couple days ago. Super fast delivery! Now my wife will hopefully stop taking over my drink spot since this gives her her own.

One of my dad's hobbies was flipping old MGs and Alpine project cars when I was a kid. One of my jobs was floating Testors paint on all the dashboard knobs...View attachment 1767684 Just recently painted my original wheels. I had been running a set of FJ Cruiser 17s. The originals were looking rough! Four of them cleaned up very well... one not so much. Here is the finishing touch for my now flat black original FZJ ‘94 alloy 16s. Yeah that’s Testor’s model paint. Hope it holds up ok![]()

Bent Motorsports, San Marcos CaWho makes those?
This is exactly why my cruiser is currently my DD. My Audi needs a head gasket. I’m sure a head gasket in a civic is way easier. While backing it out of the garage, I learned I get to do a head gasket job. The daily driver decided to puke coolant out of an exhaust manifold stud that came out, so the 80 gets DD duty for a week or two while I do a head gasket on my Civic.

I guess they don’t have a listing for parts. How much did they run you?Bent Motorsports, San Marcos Ca
By the looks of the Honda FSM it should be pretty easy. No need for step stool, two people to lift the head off, etc. Kind of crazy you can get a rebuilt head and all the parts for a Civic head gasket job for less than $500.
I replaced some bearings in the transmission and put a clutch in it a couple years ago. I could lay on the ground and lower the trans out all by my self....I don't think I even used a jack, that was nice. Hopefully this job goes as easily.

Yeah I have to pull basically the whole front end of the car off to even get to the timing belt. I did a clutch over the winter and that trans definitely didn’t come out easily.
HA! I get that all the time.Spent some time at the lake. Received a compliment?? "I love that Toyota. It's awesome. What is it, a 4 Runner?"

He made a run for our club and some extras left over. Cost was $260 to start but cost of steel has gone up so probably more now.I guess they don’t have a listing for parts. How much did they run you?
186.8 F seems to be the normal operating temp for my truck. Even under load it will quickly make adjustments to return to that temp. Interestingly I had another 80 following behind me with a different brand scanner it recorded the same. I’m beginning to think 186.8 is “normal”.
Ha, I wish I could get the front end pulled in 30 min. It takes me 2 hours it seems. As far as the chain tensioner it should come off with the head. I shouldn’t need to mess with it. Although with the head off I might as well replace it. The list of “while you’re in there” parts keeps getting longer. SMH!At least pulling the front end is only about a 30 minute endeavor and then everything is pretty open and right there. I did the timing belt on my B6 1.8 when I first got it and it wasn't too bad. I imagine the hardest part of the head gasket will be messing with the cam chain on the back of the head. My tensioner was leaking and I was able to sneak a new gasket and half moon under it without taking the chain loose.
