Thank you! Diagrams and instructions helpful? Any suggested edits? Additions?

I love seeing our instructions getting greasy! Starting asap all of our tie rod end kits will have step by step instructions too. In fact we are working on instructions for all of our kits.

Kurt,

Is this something a customer could get that purchased a kit from you, say, 2 years ago but hasn’t done anything with it yet? :D

How do you have two 80s and such a clean garage? let's see some more pics of that Slee rear.

This garage housed two late model Audis and my OCD for organization. My wife is an 80 series fan, and we bought hers in September. I liked it enough that I bought the black one to 'learn' on before messing hers up. That said, I've had both of these magnificent machines in the garage at the same time for less than a week. Already I've accumulated extra parts looking for places to store them. I'm sure I'll run out of room soon, and this will transform my 'costco' import facility into a full blown mechanic's garage.

Mind you, all I own for real tools is a small socket set. So I'm more than happy to let any of you help me fix issues on either of my cruisers... beer is on me for trade of knowledge.

With my new hobby and obsession with the 80 series, I've put both machines under paint correction and body work. For now I'm just removing paint scratches and oxidation. I also spent the long weekend learning how to break old bolts attempting to straighten the steering wheel. My mechanic skills suck, but I've got to learn at some point. Here's a fun shot of the woman that started this obsession, along with the his and hers machines this forum loves so much.

FA9097 variant knuckle kit? Totally? We started including these in some kits in 2014 and in all kits by early 2015 so make sure it's not tucked away in the bottom of the box. If not, shoot me your addy and I'll make, you a copy with some stickers :D

It got really cold last night. Climbed in my son’s 92 to move it and found this! MOTHERFAWKER!!!! He drove it last night and had picked up the sunflower seeds on his way to go fishing. So the little bastard(s) had gotten in there last night. The driver door wasn’t closed tight (the curse of new door seals!)

So I set a couple of traps and left for Starbucks...

Checked when I got home and the SOB was caught! He got to go for a ride in the 93 “out to the farm”... Reset the traps again to see if there are any others that want to go to the farm...

Spent a sunday morning at the castle of @landtank Rick Coached me in the nuances of Spring replacement put in the new Dobinsons Center of wheel to fender was 25in with 4in King springs in, its now 27.5 with 4in Dobinsons in. Rick hooked me up with bumpstop drop brackets and E brake drop bracket(which I overtightened and broke) but with landtank links and new whiteline sway bar in rear its 60%ish more stable on turns way less roll, now Im waiting on the currie anti rock for the front. And tomorrow if weather holds Im installing the superior engineering control arms, but ride is nice no vibrations good to go.

Thanks.

If I can hit a price point to make it worth doing, yes. There are lots of good sliders out there. The difference with these is that they really work on 80's with flares as they extend out really far. It is really to provide a really nice step into the truck. My wife is like 4' 13" so she hates the big leap without the step. Less shin bashing slip with the square rub rail vs. round tube also imo. They are beefy too.

I repaired my faulty Depo LED tail light. The LED driving lights were not working so I swapped with an old one that had a cracked reverse light. 200 degrees in the oven for about 10 minutes or so. Removed the red lenses only, then swapped out the bad LED assembly.

I also wired up my Amazon rear view camera and dash monitor. $22 for the monitor and $30 ish for the camera. Light repair was free!

Bit of last week and a bit of this week...new ToughDog suspension from @reevesci installed lasted weekend and the caster plates installed this weekend. I told the wife the plates would take me a couple of hours...maybe 8 hours later I finished. There are no shortage of lessons to be had doing this for the first time. Now even my 10 year old daughter can explain the basics of "Caster"... Off to @cruisermatt later to get the seams welded..

Continued chipping away at replacing all window seals, runs, belt moldings, weather strips, etc.

My 93 spent the first 23 years up in the high desert of Oregon and was full of thick dirt and dust every where. Now I can actually slide the rear quarter windows on their runs and the power door windows are faster completing one full cycle in just over 7 seconds - no motor or regulator replacement.

Be aware that debris collects and builds up at the lower rear corner beneath the quarter window frame and weather strip. This hinders water draining from above. Then, water collects under the weather strip and migrates up into the deep channel of the rubber seal that straddles and grips the metal lip of the body. The water may or may not make its way to the iside but it will cause rust to develop. If you live near the ocean, the effect will probably be worse.

Even though my 80 spent most of it's life in a very dry climate, there was a mild rust issue. It was worse on the side where more debris was trapped under the weather srtip.

I sanded it down and coated it with Chassis saver (like POR15).

All in all not a difficult task if a little on the tedious side.

I'm sure it's going to cost something.... 2 years:flipoff2:

Spent all afternoon chasing an electrical issue with my front spot lights. Rewired my rear spot lights so it’s cleaner.

Changed the plugs on my 07 Camry Hybrid. It has 175k on it so I figured it was due. It took all of 15 minutes, maybe. Funny how you don’t spend 8 HRs doing a bunch of “while you’re in there” on a normal car.
