Replaced the old "jalopy" antique plates with year of manufacture plates. Also found a cool 60 decal for the rear window! All this after the semi-annual waxing. Small stuff but fun and easy!

Could you maybe take the minty-ness down a notch? You're making us look bad...

This morning I made some mounts for my Hi-lift to go on the backside of my ARB bumper. I don’t like the idea of having a heavy jack up on a roof rack, and it always ended up being one of the first things I loaded into the back when going out (so it was buried, as not to crush things).

I cut some short pieces of 1/8” wall square tube and welded 1/2” bolts to the backside then welded the tube to the ARB. I drilled some holes for clips in case the wing nuts back off, and cut apart some spare poly bushings I had laying around for isolators.

Winch controls are still accessible, and the jack comes out easily. It does block a little bit of the drivers side hi beam, but I rarely use the high beams anyway (I turn on the light bar if I need more light than low beams.) I could use a cable lock for security if I need to, but I don’t intend to leave the jack on all the time anyway.

@Kleatus Love the "old school" ARBs. Great idea on the jack. Next "built" 60 I own might see a variation of this.

Used it

Had a reasonably big weekend working on the 60 to get it ready for a 2 week camping trip coming up next weekend. Did some basic things like an oil and filter change and diesel filter change, then finished off hard-mounting my air compressor and installed a tyre pressure monitoring system. Next was to get rid of a couple of rattles, and then I moved on to the boat and boat trailer...

Also cleaned out the front cowl. I doubt this was ever done by the PO. And lubed up the wipers with Molykote 33. Good to have two speeds now.

No extra sound/ heat proofing used. I just cleaned up the floor and used the jute that came with kit.
