Been a long time coming-I got the axle December 2016. But 80 series rear axle swap into my FJ62, with Harrop eLocker in the rear, 80 series stock wheels and 255/85R16 tires. Last pic is to show it doesn't stick out far at all. Also, new OME heavy springs.

Front axle is still stock, but will have spacers and matching wheels in a week or two when I get to it.

This is the second 80 axle into 60 I've done and think the disc brakes are a nice upgrade and the added width and full float axle is a bonus. And, the FF axle allows you to run the awesome Harrop eLockers.

Not exactly “roughing” it at the Navy Rec center in Solomon’s....but it was good to open the tent for the first time this season. Bonus, discovered my clutch master is leaking a bit. Good thing I’ve got one sitting in the garage....will tackle that and the brass pin in the steering wheel (horn no workee) Sunday. Plus, we’ll, I'm sure something else.

Did some more work on my tailgate storage today.

I still need to clean up some rough edges and take it apart to paint the frame and apply more stain, and need to attach the lower part of the frame with something other than Tek screws.

I’m super happy with how much this holds. I have the lid above the original surface of the tailgate, so I don’t loose the thickness of the lid in storage space within.

Also made a square tube bender and picked up some 16 ga. 1” and 1/2” tube to start on a roof rack.

Pushed off the 8" of new snow, ran a can of Berryman's B-12 chemtool combustion system cleaner thru the intake via brake booster vacuum. Wanted to see a cloud of soot, but really was pale grey smoke, took it out for a speed run +70 mph with 3000 rpm . . . smooth.

Once again went looking for the elusive Eastern Sierra Easter bunny. All we found were beautiful views:).

89BIBBLUE: Where were you camping? I'm still familiarizing myself with NM.

Additional comment:
I am really starting to enjoy the thrilling excitement that is:
6% grade 2 lane highway, 2nd gear, 2500Rpm, 30 mph. Tractor-tractor-tractor on!
The roar of the fan clutch engaging, and watching the temp needle drop from just above the half marker to the first one, and then again, and again, all while pulling to the summit! The smiles I flash to all the folks who blow by at the first chance they get are genuine!

Took a while but finally I can re-the-hell-lax while bellowing up a long grade and getting a cramp in my right leg from keeping the throttle mashed against the firewall.

ALL GONE !!!
The carpet and spring gauge have left the building.

It's not quite on topic but I have some free stuff from my 62 I thought someone might want to have. I'm in Temecula but drive up near Riverside and down toward San Diego on a regular basis. The rear deck cover has carpet, a foam pad and a layer of durable plastic sheet all sewn together and wheel well covers are just carpet. The tension gauge is brand new and unused. I have some repair manuals also.

Sorry for the late update.

After camping on Sat...Sunday was a trifecta of repairs. New Clutch Master cyl, replaced worn needle for horn, and rebuilt the starter - not as shiny as those $100 units on Amazon...but good enough for me.
