Routine Maintenance; Took off my lugnuts, one at a time, gave each lug & it's nut a dab of the anti-seize and put the nut back on. Put the torquewrench on each and moved on. I bought a new tool for it 'cause I'm old. It doesn't do a real ugga-dugga but it works pretty well. Think I might take it when wheeling. I need to get my wheels balanced and rotated and get the toe-in checked at my tire shop and wanted to get this done before rather than after. While I had the torquewrench out I checked my knucklestuds, top AND bottom, to get my Rubithon prep out of the way. A couple nuts turned just a hair so I'm glad I caught that in time.

Something I’d always had a question on was anti-seize on wheel studs. My 2001 F-150 wheels always bonded to the hub in between brake jobs and a friend who is a service writer at Ford told me they would routinely loosen the lug nuts and gracefully ride up on over the curbs in their parking lot to break the wheels loose.

So… is it acceptable to use anti-seize on wheel lugs? Is torque modified by lubricants?

Debatable and certainly, respectfully.

acceptable? I hope so. I've been doing it for 40 years on this Pig, haven't lost a wheel yet. Torque nerds might insist on increasing (or decreasing, I don't know) it by 2% or somesuch.
Remember:
1) It's a LandCruiser, they're different.
B) Every fastener gets either anti-seize or Loc-Tite
III) 90 Ft/Lbs is plenty, wet or dry. They're really easy to check. I'm not going to risk not being able to get a tire off when out wheeling

Went for a drive, took it for lunch. Nice sunny day, not tourist season, flowering trees, no snow, etc. Had to check a few things; last time I drove it it had a dragging brake, I banged all around the parking brake drum with a mallet, think that fixed it. I really should take it apart and clean it up. Turn signal switch works better since I snugged up the screws in there when I was working on the dimmer switch. The auto-cancel works every time in both directions now. Started to think about doing an oil change.
Got a burger and beerrun done with one stop, forgot to get a pic of the gas price (6 bucks). Place is less than a mile from me as the crow flies but 3 miles via paved road with lots of ups and downs so I circulated the dinos and exercised the secondary.

Interesting view in this photo above. I have made a study of human nature over the last 6 decades. I used to see this at the car wash as well

Imaging the thinking of the woman in the car behind you. I can almost hear a full gamut of comments

My daughter, who is obsessed with weight…(she is 115lbs and 5’ 6”) would ask my wife and I…
“ if you were walking behind me in the mall…would you say ..damn, look at the size of that girls ass?”
😂

'Cruised down the hill to the bustling metropolis of Placerville to visit my tire shop, had them rotate my tires. I've had them check my toe-in before for free, today they wanted 160 bucks to put it on that rack. I declined. Figured out that my left front was probably dragging a brake, that hub was hot and it wouldn't turn by hand. But the right front was warm and it didn't want to turn either... Master cylinder problem? Maybe I'll take a look at it.
