What trucks do you guys want to buy in the US? 60 series, Prado, 80 series, 90 series?

What motor is most in demand? 2.4 diesel? 3L diesel? 4.0, 4.2L diesel?

I have access to a significant amount of Japanese Toyota trucks and am determined to bring them over and get them sold as cheaply as possible. My goal is not to sell pristine and perfect 30k+ trucks, but the opposite end of the spectrum. Trucks by enthusiasts and for enthusiasts and hobbyists that are a little rough around the edges, but are fantastic starting points for your builds.

Unfortunately I'm limited to RHD coming out of Japan
I’d settle for a V8 JDM troopie up to 2010 if there is such a thing. What is your secret sauce? All the Japanese auctions are on-line.

All the online ordering sites (even the direct-from-japan style sites)and mainland based companies with cars already in stock on US soil are all marked up $$, but in typical fashion that's the only way to get one of these cars. The other thing I've noticed is the only thing for sale here are "perfect" looking $25-30k+ trucks. I don't want that. I want something affordable that's a good starting point to do my own build on it that may be a little imperfect. That's my target audience.

I don't have any overhead and I work directly with the auction and a trusted small exporter so my costs are significantly decreased across the board, bypassing everything in between. That's the only secret sauce.

Mainly diesel. All the legendary 90s-early 00s stuff the US didn't get -

HDJ81 with 1HD-FT
HZJ81 with 1HZ and poverty pack/barn doors could be cool
HZJ76 or HZJ74, 1HZ, later model (99+ I believe but could be wrong) with coil springs
HDJ101, 1HD-FTE

That's my wishlist. Goes without saying that 5 speeds would be preferable to autos, but they're rare and more $$. I don't think Japan got troopies or trucks, at least until 2015 when they had the GR76 and GR79. So for now that would limit the 70 series to 73/74/76/77 Series. I don't like Prados or 90 Series very much myself, because I want something a little more heavy duty with a more readily available aftermarket.

What would be your price range for a 95 VX Limited 4.2L auto, 140k miles. Not perfect, but nothing major wrong.

That's funny, I bought an almost identical cruiser last year.

Mine is a '97 though but similar mileage and same color scheme. It had been baselined, paint touched up, and the suspension redone in the US, and I bought it for $34K. Since then I feel like the market has softened a little. I just saw one sell on BaT for $20K -

But to answer your question, I'd say $20-30K depending on condition

The HDJ80 24 Valve, HZJ77's, HDJ100's are my most asked for right now.

HZJ105's too if available, Mercedes Gwagons and Porsche's too the odd time, 911's.

But there is someone for most as people want different trucks for various reasons.

Yes, I only import diesels. If you're interested I need payment by Monday morning. Goes to auction Monday night and it will be gone.
