What are these hoses for?

Went off road yesterday and checked under the truck this morning to make sure things were ok. I don't recall seeing these hoses hanging below like this - is this normal?

These two hoses are clamped together but terminate at different points.

This is where one of the hoses terminates (top right in pic):

Um,

lets see it we can make those attachments a bit larger next time, shal we?

My dial-up had a hernia downloading that..:flipoff2:

It appears to be a couple of your transmission breather lines. I went out and looked at mine but I have a 442 and I do not see exactly the same thing you have.

You should have a couple breathers connected to the top of the transmission dipstick tube. Are they still there?

Dude, I know what it is, look at the way they hang down and curve over to point to the real problem, you need a Slee transfer case skid plate, quick!!!

Seriously, it looks to me like they are the two hoses that go to the rear heater. If that is the case then something has seriously shifted over during your day of wheelin. Check the coolant level first and then check that with the heater on there is not coolant speweing out of one of those hoses. If so, shut er down right away and fix it fast. HTH. Of course looking at those pics was like trying to focus on just one single solitary pimple on Junks ass so in the "constellation" of pimples, ahh I mean parts and hoses and stuff, and scrolling back and forth and such, hell it may not be those two hoses but something else. HTH

Wait a minute, sorry, I just saw the part where the one thing terminates. Sheesh, I totally missed it the first time around; my cosmic plotter was unplugged so I did not graph that sector out yet! :flipoff2: Just bustin yer balls, no offense. Anyway, I think those are the breather hoses however mine are not really set the same??? Still, that one that terminates towards the top is most likely the breather. I think Dan mentioned where they terminate, are you seeing them by the dipstick? Also, you should reach up to the top of where the other ends terminate and make sure they are not loose there too. HTH

Sorry... I've resized the pics! I see that the tubes are missing from the transmission dipstick, so you are right (once again). There are two connectors on the dipstick tube, one above the other. Do you know which tube I need to connect where?

Man,

It sucks to be me..............:D

You see, the next time I am wrong the planets will shift and all hell will break loose... (in addition, my prone scores will tank and I will be very unhappy)

In response to your question re the position of the hoses, I do not think that it really matters which bib you re-attach the hoses to .

I am concerned, however, as to why they came off in the first place.

Or just extend them up yourself with the diff breathers.
