My son's 2000 LC has finally developed a cut/tear in the leather. We decided that the best solution for the time being, would be a pair of Wet Okole seat covers for the front row of seats.

The covers are due to arrive on Saturday, and the kid leaves for college a few days later, so I'd like to get them installed as efficiently as possible.

I have looked through a number of older posts on the subject:

I've seen that I'll need 'hands of an eight year old", it would probably be quicker if I remove the front seats and expect the instructions to be pretty generic?

Any other install any hints, tips, "gotchas", supplies or tools that would make the job quicker/easier would be appreciated.

i did not remove the seats from the car. I took off the mounting bolts and just leaned it back or forward depending. I got them second hand so no instructions. I only used the fronts. Its not hard at all.

Best thing is to lay them out in the sun for a day or 2 the heat helps and it will air them out. They do STINK for a while.

When I went to their facility to have them installed (free with purchase) the two installers did not have tiny hands and they did not remove any seat bolts. They had everything installed nice and taught in about 30 min. Since I didn't install them myself I can't really provide any actual tips... just my experience as I watched from the sidelines.

Btw, one of my favorite upgrades! Super comfy and looks great, and fits better than any aftermarket leather kit.

Rocking the seats makes it sound a bit easier.

Great :frown:

I get to make an 8-10 hour drive in a car with "smelly seats". I should've expected as much after the Lloyd's Rubbertite floor mats and their overpowering "new pool toy" smell for the first month or two.

I may get 1 day in the sun, but two is unlikely.

Thanks for the info.

That's weird, mine didn't stink at all and they were just made at the factory.

I think the 22 hour drive (each way) for our free install, would probably impact our travel schedule for dropping him off at school just a wee bit.

I expect that those factory installers have just a little bit of experience installing the seat covers. I'll plan on a couple of hours.

Glad to hear that you're happy with them.

Thanks for your input and observations
