I am hoping to get these centering pins changed out this week and maybe a visit to the alignment shop after that. Then, I should be set. :steer:

need some black steel wheels for this build?

I already have some...they are stock painted black. I am just going to repaint them black and get some chrome lug nuts. It's gonna look sweet!

you get that thing finished ? if you come to the new years run can you bring some of that coon ass sausage we had at the crawl :D.

I got it finished, but I am still tweaking stuff. I got the shims put on (4 deg on the front, 2 deg on the back). It straightened out the castor on the front, but I have a lot of vibration in the rear at 35+ mph. I think my u-joints might be going out because of the lift. I want to put 4 deg shims in the rear and see if that fixes it, but it probably will still be the u-joints. I might shim the front a little more and things will be perfect. Thanks for the tip on the longer centering pins. They worked perfect!

I am planning to make the new years run and yes I will bring sausage if I come. I am hoping to wheel my truck before then to check everything before getting out on the trail for the New Year's run. I was hoping to make the Sky Line trip this weekend, but I got sick this week. :frown: I am feeling better, but not 100% to go on the ride, without a top.

test it next weekend at MM...

I am going to try to make it, but it's looking doubtful right now. Hopefully, something will change. Is anyone planning to ride the weekend of the 27th?

Werd up? Wish you could make it man, I'll be bringing the snausage this time I guess. :bounce:

Planning on it! might even join your convoy!

Werd,

Why did you put the shims on the rear? Mine didn't require it and we haven't done it on any of the 4" lifts we have done. Take them out and I'd bet the vibration is gone.

I put 2.5" shackles on the rear too. It looked like it needed a little shimming, but not much. I will try it. Thanks! :)

I am running the same shackles on mine. No need for the shims. What did you do rotate it up or down?

Dude, yall need to get Woody to add yall to the drop down menu (forum jump) at the bottom of the thread. I have to go back to forums to get to yalls thread.

I never even knew that wuz there! that's the cats nuts!

Come awn man!!!!

Werd ideally you want the angle of the pinion to be the same angle as the t-case with a CV joint. I would assume your t-case it roughly vertical so therefore the pinion angle should be the same. Shims in the rear might be causing your problem like Bodean said.

That makes a little more sense. I figured the rear carrier needed to be more in line with the drive shaft. I am planning to remove them after work. Should fix the problem, but I won't get to try it until I install a new fuel pump (will be here on Friday). I'll keep you posted.

Thanks!

You coming to MM on Saturday?
