I like to get the 45 out for a workout every couple of months or so.
Last Sunday the wife and I thought we'd go on a picnic, so we compromise by choosing a location that involves some wheeling. We went to the McLean Creek OHV area about half hour west of Calgary, in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
We were by ourselves so I took the conservative line whenever possible. The truck is quite capable with the aussie in the rear, and my 8247 works well, but I didn't want to spend the afternoon winching out of a stuck. The trail was a mix of gravel roads and forest trails. We even did some side trips on quad trails. I love how narrow the 40 series is. We hit several running board deep water holes and a couple of steep rocky pitches, but other than that it wasn't any thing really challanging.
We finally set camp at the side of the Elbow river and enjoyed a beer and smokies cooked on the fire.
Here's a couple of shots from the day. They are from my i-phone, and please excuse the fingers.
In that last shot it really shows how skinny those 7.50/16s are. And look at that baby
