Just acquired a speedglass 9000V today and seems like it is a liked helmet. It's used, but the price was great... Free...
I am on the first leg to becoming a weekend welder. Now I need a welder. :)

Update:

Yesterday I picked up a Jackson Nexgen EQC. This helmet was recommended to me by welding instructor and by one of the guys at the local welding shop. I tried on several different helmets while I was there. I tried on several Speedglases, Millers, Lincolns, and Jacksons. I chose the Jackson for several reasons, it has 4 sensors, the head gear I found comfortable and adjustable, I can fit either my glasses or safety glasses underneath, the helmet stays up and "locked" when I don't need it. Also, the helmet is made in the states, which I like. Lastly, the helmet is a bit more over built in my opinion than others. This does add a little bit of extra weight, but not enough to worry me.

Over about the 12 weeks I will be taking a welding class that covers oxy/act, stick, MIG, and TIG. I will be using this helmet for the latter 3 of those types of welding. After the class I will right up a review on both the helmet, and my new welding jacket.

I just picked up a snap on welding helmet. it was comparable to the miller, except it had a 1/2 bigger viewing area and was 50 dollars cheaper. its got all the bells and whistle's. I love the thing. oh and it has a year longer warranty than the miller. the viewing area is about 4x4 in. makes it nice when in tight spots.
