Welding frame around glass in rear hatch?

Guys:

I just read something like 265 posts on 'rust' trying to find a post (I think it was here?). Someone (who are you?) had popped the glass on the rear upper tailgate and had noticed that the shell around the window opening was pinched together but not welded. The then welded the rim to prevent rust.

I'm about to have some body work done and I wanted to talk to the person that did this to see if I should ask to have this piece welded together.

Does anyone remember this or who it was?

Hugh, I think that post was on the 80's list, but I definitely remember the person talking about the pinch welds. If you're on that list, see if you can scan the archives, or PM someone like Pimp who seems to never forget anything except how to spell and see if the memory board is full or not.

Thanks Junk _ I am, so that's where it could be. I also plan to ask them to call me when the have both the front and rear windows out so I can have a look at the damage...amajor PITA...more expensive than painting my house
