What is a good welder to get and what should I be looking for?

I bought a Weld-Pak 100 I think, maybe 125.. Anyway, wirefeed flux core, works great as I do all my welding outside.. I've been really happy with it.. I couldn't weld spider gears and wouldn't weld my frame but I welded a bumper with it, where it mounted to the frame and one day I had to get pulled out of the mud.. I was betting against the welds for sure but to my shock they held up!!

Just today I welded a fender on a trailer and I could jump on the thing without of breaking of, this was with about 3 inches of welding in two spots..

Anyway, I wish I would have gotten a 220 wirefeed now but if funds are limited I would find the little 110 and figure it'll do 90% of what you need, even more if you heat the metal up with a torch before welding..

Hey all,
Getting to a point I can start doing some of the "fun" mods to the rig...Front and rear bumper...cut rear quarters and build some sliders etc...

the clarke 180amp is a monster machine for the price it's 220v but they have a 115v 130 amps version which is sufficient to do most fabrication jobs for your cruiser up to 3/16 steel the 180 amps obviously will weld thicker steel
