So I see that no one's posted up, so as the appointed "secretary" (why do I feel like I got suckered into it?), I'll post up some (very) rough comments from the meeting tonight.

Jerod actually took notes (in my defense this was prior to me being nominated). I'm sure he can post and fill in or clarify anything I miss.

As many of you have probably gathered, the official name is OR/CA TACO. Oh, wait, sorry, it's Jefferson State Cruisers. :p

The first act as the newly appointed Jefferson State Cruisers was to eat. It's important to start off on the right foot. Or at least with a cold beer in one hand and a hot burger in the other.

We then covered a tourterous route that Rubicon has nothing on, often getting side tracked with fishing stories, thoughts on converting to propane, and other side discussions best left out. Just don't ask Garret what was in his "special" brownies.

Meeting Highlights:

We have appointed the first three officials to preside over the club. Actaually, I think "appointed" is the wrong word. It was more of "I'm not doing it, so you have to" followed by comments of "sucker".

El Presidante: Jerod (2ndGenToyotaFan)
Embezzler: Garret (Toy350)
Hot Secretary: Gabe (Ebag333)

The monthy dues are currently at $20 per year per member. This number is subject to change as we determine on-going club needs and wants...and once we figure out the yearly salary for the officer positions. :hhmm:

Guest members are welcome on a trial basis. Discussion was raised of potential guest passes or a "one try and then you're in or out". The club member who invites the guest is held fully responsible for said guest.

Club by-laws are pending. Discussion was raised on where to find a copy of example by-laws. It was decided to either use the TLCA example as a guide, or to completely rip off Cascade Cruisers bylaws (including not changing the names on the by-laws). The by-laws will be settled at a later date (possibly by committee?)

Discussion was raised on the general "feel" and "atmosphere" of the club. All members present leaned towards a family style atmosphere where wives/girlfriends/children/dogs/etc would be welcomed and feel comfortable.

Discussion was raised on  and :steer:. The consensus by present members was: don't.

Discussion was raised of potential club sponsored trips, meetings, wrenching meets, etc. A rough guide was quarterly for official meetings (pending potential changes). Different trips were discussed, including day trips and overnight (camping) trips. Trips will be decided at a later point by a committee (yet to be appointed).

The first non-official club trip will be to McGrew trail on Saturday the 12th. Please see the McGrew thread for more details.

Good synopsis Gabe.

I will be looking into the not-for-profit organization laws along with Travis. Once we understand the benefits and short falls of it we will discuss with the club. Once we decide the clubs status as a business we can officially collect dues and start a bank account. I will also start the books.

We need ideas and preliminary drawings for a logo. All please throw out ideas and such. We will probably start a thread for just this.

Also brought up was the question of membership of non-Toyota owners. As for the TLCA laws as a chapter we have to have a certain percentage of TLCA members/Toyota owners. We will not have a problem adhering to that. It is up to us as to whether or not we want to allow non-Toyota owners to join. We will have to put this up for vote before the club members. I think the general consensus was any 4X4 owner is fine whereas I would like it Toyota only.

Website: Hopefully we will have something up as soon as Brian and/or Steve can get it going. If initial startup funds are needed for domain names and such contact me and I can get it done.

Once we have a logo and a website up I think we can make flyers or cards to hand out to potential members. I don't think we can get something done before the official McGrew run but that would be a great starting point for members since they will all will be TLCA members and mostly from our demographic.

Thanks all, I think we are off to something great here!

Geese.... I went to bed when I got home.... Must have been the brownies.... :D

My official minutes went something like this:

------------------------------------------

Voted on name of club, Jefferson State Cruisers Won out with 22 votes
2nd place was TORC Toyota Off Road Coalition with 11
3rd was ORCA TACO with 9
4th was STORM Siskiyou Toyota Off Road Militia
5th was Siskiyou trail Toyotas with 7
and 6th was Siskiyou Trail Toys

Discussed dues $20 was brought up, and we quickly lost direction. :D

Discussion on weather to form a non-profit

Jerod Knox was voted in as first official Jefferson State Cruisers president

Garett Winn was voted in as Treasurer

Gabe Bennett was reluctantly voted in as Secretary

---------------------------------------------

We had 10 members show up. It was great to meet you all, and I look forward to leading this club for a yet to be determined about of time.... :D

To those who did not get their final proxy votes in. We had a land slide, just as the semi final vote predicted, JSC was not my first choice, but I'm happy that we had a overwhelming consensus. And everyone seems to be happy with that, except Gabe who is now the president, and sole member of ORCA TACO a subsidiary of JSC.

Now I need to get to work! :D

Congrats to all the 'office' holders. I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it to the meeting yesterday afternoon, it sounds like you all had a great time. I look forward to being part of the Jefferson State Cruisers. Please post how to get you my info along with were to send dues.

Oy, 5th of August? Or is this the same July 12 run?

Sounds like y'all had a good time and very few topics reached a conclusion. Kidding. I can't wait until my house addition is in a state of semi-completion and I can join in the fun.

Brian is going register Jeffersonstatecruisers.com for the club. He will pay the fee and it will reduce his first year dues.

It was good to meet all 20 of you. (must have been the brownies!:hillbilly:) I look forward to working with all of you.

Oy, I can't keep my dates straight. Yes, the same July 12th run (post corrected).

I second Toy's suggestion about Toyota owners only...subject to discussion of course.

I don't think we'll have many non-Toyota owners clamoring to join, but if it should happen, I think we'll have to look at it in a case to case way....

Oh great, we made Gabe secretary? He can't even use a calender... (Did I say that out loud?) Hehehe

Yea, we didn't come to many life altering conclusions, what we did figure out is there are a lot of smaller questions that need to be answered before the big ones. IE Dues? How much? Fly Rod brought up that fact that maybe we need a budget first, to see what this club will cost to keep up for a year, then make a decision about dues. Etc.... This will all be hashed out here for the most part, so everyone's input can be accounted for.
