Hi there

I swapped out my spare wheel carrier today and found these, WTF are they? There are two on each side, and they are wired into the rear loom

@Dave 2000 Any ideas since you are a lot closer?

Are they above or below the tire carrier? Does the tire crank up against them?
My first thought was a pressure switch to let you know the spare is loose, but that seems a little over the top; like something out of a Land Rover, not a Landcruiser.

GPS tracker?

Stolen vehicle recovery system--like a Lojack?

The wiring looks factory, the way they're just lying on top of the cross member looks bodged. The right hand side ones are tucked under a big cable tie, the left hand side ones are just loose

I guess they could be a tracking system of 1997 vintage

Where do the wires lead?

Probably a junction box inside somewhere.
