Hi my names Brandon im new to the forums i hope i am posting a new thread in the right area, what i need help with is im having trouble working out the original colour that my fj45 came with as i want to respray it but unsure of what colour to respray it.
I have attached a picture of the build plate and under colour it says 000?
i cannot find any toyota paint codes close to that would that mean it wasn't painted in the factory? could it have been sprayed in primer then sold to a dealer or company for paint because it used to be an old telecom truck (orange) but is now a red.

Resurrecting an old “thread” to reply with what little info I have to contribute, I’m pretty sure that 000 is the factory code for “special order.”

My NorForce Troopy has paint code 000 and it was Army green.

And I found a Gumtree ad for an ex-Fire Service truck that had a color code of 000 that was a fire engine orange-red:

I doubt that they were delivered in primer.

Hi there,

I am trying to find the original paint code on the build plate. I have found a number which says: SD T-1105 and am wondering if this is the colour code.

Cheers,

I have found this plate next to the battery, but otherwise I have not found any other plates in the engine bay.

If you want a better look at it I can remove the battery.

If your cruiser was built 1/75 or later that is where the paint code would be. Earlier models did not have a paint code on the plaque under the hood. From the mid 1960s until the 78 model that plays was in that location on US imported FJ40s. Originally held on with four sheet metal screws. Believe by 1/75 it was only two. I have a 10/75 and it only has two. Yours appears to have four. The windshield frame and doors changed 1/75. That would be way of telling if yours would have a paint code except Australian spec 40 series change to the later style 7/74, six months earlier. That includes the FJ45. I see a 3/75 date on the other plaque. That is an import date not production date. Where are the windshield wipers, top or bottom of the windshield?

If the telecom company ordered them with their color instead of normal factory colors, Toyota may have stamped the plate "000" for the paint code to indicate a non Toyota color was used in the build.
