Hi! I was coming back from a 1600 mile roadtrip when my Ultra Gauge got 2 codes. Both banks were running lean. I stopped for a bit and deleted the codes to see if they would pop up again and kept driving. The car died on me Im guessing to prevent any further damage and decided to stop and check. I was in the middle of Dead Valley without the right tools so I couldn't do much. After waiting for a bit turned it back on and again, kept driving. To keep the story short the car made a horrible noise as I started going uphill. I checked the spark plugs and they were all running lean. Replaced them and then tried to turn it on and the noise is still there.

My questions are:

1.-What is making the car run lean? I found no vacuum leaks, I believe the Mass air flow sensor is not reading right but I also think it might be something related with the fuel injection system. (I had replaced the Spark plugs 5 months ago before this)

2.- What is that noise? Its coming from the engine bay but sounds like an exhaust leak or something.

Short clip, but you might have lost an exhaust manifold gasket, or flange gasket. Those will create a false reading for the O2 sensors and throw the mixture off.
Hope all goes well in Death Valley, not a good place to break down. Good luck.
