the alloys cant weight 40lbs, I would say there were under 30lbs each, just had a set shiped.....they sure seemed pretty light.

So...if the numbers are accurate for steel and stock alloys the weight difference is negligable. I like the Stockton program...custom off-set too. And, well cheaper is always better, $150 for custom wheels doesn't sound out of the park anyway. Compared to $400 each for hi-zoot bling bling Weld's these days.

Thanks for all the numbers...I think this is the way I will go...

I know, I was refering to spressomon post above saying they were close in weight

He is from OZ and was referring to the OEM steel wheels that they have down there.

Spresso,
Are you going to remount your MTR's or are you going to go with another set of tires? Swampers would like good on those steelies.

MTR's...it's all rock here.

I can get the weights...just need to spend some time. I thought I would see if anyone had this info first. I appreciate everyone's help...I'll post the actual weights of both wheels once I get them.

just weighted a stock one with powder coat. Aprox 24 lbs. Hope that helps you. later robbie

100 TD,
If you look at post # 4 of this thread, you will see that we can get them from Stockton Wheel for $150 each, why would anyone want to pay $300/wheel from OZ?

Greg, I don't intend to chase up new ones, but secondhand ones that have come off new vehicles that have had alloys fitted, these go for between $50 - $100 each $AUD plus transport, and if you want OEM rims, this could be a way to go instead of non-OEM Stockton wheels. and you may get them there cheaper! EDIT, but then again it is a lot of effort for me, so I'll let you buy the non-OEM from Stockton.

Well, why didn't you post it this way in the first place? Your first post looked like you were trolling for business. And the only price you threw out was $300 per wheel new. It just looked fishy to me. If you can find reasonably priced used ones and can sell them to us at reasonable prices and still make a few bucks, by all means, give it a go. I just don't see that many people here that would pay more than $150 per used wheel if they can buy them from Stockton for the $150, even if they're not OEM.

So the steel wheels weigh about twice as much and cost more. I'll continue to check ebay for a deal on used alloys:D

As far as the OEM vs. Stockton decision, the Stockton wheels look much better. The OEM are fugly.

My apologies for not making it clearer, and no I don't want to make any money selling any wheels, but if I had to chase them up and ship them for someone I would have needed some compensation as organising transport for a swag of them would have taken some time, I was just trying to help out but know now not to. I had posted the prices along time ago to someone elses question so did not again, just said sometimes they are cheap and sometimes they are dear. Sorry.
