So, I decided I needed to organize the back of the -40 for a weekend camping trip.... With the man-child and the dog. Went to Lowes and got the necessary supplies to build a rear seat area platform to allow full storage under, some storage above, and a place for the dog to ride.

I wanted a simple, and single platform that would fit in the back of the Yoda, with the jump seats folded down. This provides a sturdy platform, and slightly more space under the platform than if I used the fender wells. Also, it allows me to keep the existing 1 Gal coolant bottle standing upright in the rear organizer.

Took my measurements, and a 48x48 sheet of plywood would be fine, and still allow me to carry the NATO / Jerry can against the rear tailgate, if necessary. Another consideration, is that you don't have a bunch of room, even diagonally, to get the platform in and out of the rear of the Yoda. 48"wide, 29"deep behind my seat (I have the seat relocation kit installed), and 33"behind center console and passenger seat. Drew it up, measured, and made three cuts.

Used a 6x8 roll of indoor /outdoor carpet. Folded the 2 edges, and then the top and bottom, so that the seams meet and there is no exposed wood top or bottom.

And tested by Quality Control :

This build was inspired by @pngunme and his adventures with daBoise. Shelby is ready for road trial.

My 'man-child' -also named Gunner - is 14 now.

What seats are those?

AFAIK - they are stock buckets, possibly recovered by the PO.
