sorry dudes, not gonna make it tomorrow.

how was it?

Sunday wheelin'

Up Bamberton way - easy day, brilliant sunshine, had lunch at an outstanding lookout -- overlooking Saanich Peninsula, Mount Baker, Airport and the Gulf Islands. If anyone took a picture please post it.

I found communications a bit hit and miss. I think we should consider CB's as 'basic wheeling' equipment. It would avoid everyone heading down dead-end trails and reduce general confusion. Since CB's are limited to 4 watts, the key is to get a good aerial (e.g. Larson) have it located near or ideally in the middle of a good ground plane (flat metal - hood, roof ) and tuned for length. Muir Commications can do this (3214 Douglas - near Mayfair Mall). Last year during a breakdown I was taking to another truck 27 miles away (peak to peak)

Everyone has more fun when they know what is going, plus the safety and convenience factor is huge.

My $0.02 worth.

i agree with glen, i think a cb is a must if you are going to do any serious off-roading. a few years ago everyone with a boat had a cb in it now they have all switched over to vhf. so there should be hundreds of used cb radios available at garage sales and second hand stores for dirt cheap.
ps- i think muir communication is now closed down?
so where are the pics

Muir is up and running im pretty sure...they had left for a little while and are now on douglas right beside where kirby's sports used to be....near the willie dodge

Yes, they are still there. There's an old folks restaurant in the same little plaza. Is it the ABC? I forget.

Jeremy, we should go to breakfast there. We need to have more old folks breakfasts. And by that of course I mean breakfast taken from old folks.

that would be the pantry.

Whatever. They still have French Toast, right?

Mmmm... French toast...
