I like the non-bling rims!

How does The FJ compare to your 4Runner as a DD?

Nice! Are those teflon coated, or black painted wheels?

My tires were barely rubbing at 3/4 turn and a little bump, like a driveway or something. But they have gotten worse. It's almost like everything has started to settle or something and the front end is a little lower than when I bought it.

The rims are teflon coated.

I love driving the FJ. It does not handle as well as the 4runner at freeway cruising speeds.....mainly because of the width and profile of the tires.

My tires rub, bump or no, at about a 60%turn. I am going to trim back the rubber piece covering the frame mount. That should stop it.

what brand are the wheels? i ask because i am having a hard time finding 16's that will fit. also, stock height right? and what is the width on the tire?

Thanks in advance.

Those look like the American Racing Mojave rims. Check out the Chamber as well. Both would look good on the FJC in my opinion.

i really like the chambers in the teflon but have heard conflicting reports about clearing the brake calipers. if they fit i am really happy as that was my first choice!

There is a good chance that if the Mojaves fit, the Chambers will as well. I would love to see teflon Chambers on a silver FJC. Snyder, if you find out they do fit and you get them, be sure to post pics.

Gearguy,
Any idea why your 16's are rubbing but others running BFG 285/70/17's aren't?

3" lift thats why:)

I wish I knew why they rubbed. Just spent about two minutes with a box cutter...no more rubbing :)

Big fan of the old school black rims:cool:

rims are awesome. My 285/70/17s rub a tiny bit(no lift) on the rear of the front wheel wells, but a little trimming would fix it right up.

Will probably grind down the mount a little and then see if I can heat shrink the rubber. ideally would like to be able to run chains. But will probably get 265 dedicated snow tires for winter eventually. Or maybe 255/85/16s... hmm
