It's too bad you have such a lousy rear bumper.

Yes, very poorly built. Just like yours.:grinpimp:

This guy has a lot of splainin' to do...

That was me.
The right axle bracket of the front sway bar ripped off and as it did it took the brake line with it.
I need to order parts from CDAN.

Regards

Alvaro

Same thing happend to me. There is a thread about it on here from about a year ago.

I think it might be time to remove that flare.

I hate body damage.

Pfft... body damage adds charater. And besides, chicks dig it!

Turns out my truck is a different year than Skillet. There are some brake lines available for mine. I ordered two. Plus new bushings. This time the front swaybar brackets will be for real. No more of these weak Araco welds... ;)

I always knew black makes damage look worse. That definitely looks worse than mine. I don't have a pic to compare, sometimes Tools R Us has one lying around he can toss in.

Nice trail and camp spot, looks like a hell of a lot of fun. Too bad for the damage, but at least you are having fun doing it as opposed to getting banged up on the 405 or something. Good trail, camp and brew...gotta love it!

Well, it is official...

The swaybar mount is completely snapped off and thus the culprit in the mysterious brake line fiasco!

Once that new line gets here I will be removing the whole thing. I am amazed that I did not notice the broken welds right off the bat.

I will also be ordering some pumpkin guards as those were getting banged up as well. It would be a bad day on the mountain if you cracked a diff.

That trail looks alot like the Rubicon.
Brake fittings are probably 10mm. Can get premade lengths at any auto parts store. They are easy to bend, just be careful of kinking.

Ditto, just pick up a short section of premade brake line at your local parts store. Since you've already ordered the part it might not be a bad idea to have section of brake line handy in your spare parts bag for the trail.

Nice pics. Someday I'll get out west to wheel, someday.

C'mon out! I can obviously use a backup rig on the trail. :D

Maybe next year for Rubithon or 80s on the con. I just need to convince the wife that the 2+ days drive each way will be more than worth it.

Dude looks like a sick trail. Where exactly is it? You gonna be up in the sierra's anytime soon again?

Dylan

It is indeed sick.

If you go above Shaver Lake about 13 miles on the way to Huntington Res., there is a turnoff on the right called Red Mountain Trail Head by Tamarack lodge.

You go back in there about 8 miles to the Red Lake trail which is fairly challenging but when you pass Red Lake itself, you can continue on Coyote Lake trail which is the more difficult of the two.

There are many roads and trails off of Red Mountain, including Dinkey, and if you want the details, I got 'em.

There is much up there that I still need to explore but the next time I go I would like to have a little more clearance and a spare brake line. :grinpimp:

What I might do is tow the 40 behind the 80 and have a backup rig waiting since it is tough to find people to go with.

Shoot just throw it in that F-900 ? (I think) on your avitar.:)

We are pretty spoiled with the wheeling on the left side.

ken

Close, its a Falcon 7X and if I could afford one I'd dedicate a lot more time to wheeling all over the world.

You guys are definitely blessed with terrain. For all the fruits, nuts and flakes out west you have a lot more trails open. Back east where the terrain is good gov't and tree huggers keep vehicles out. In a way KS isn't so bad because right in the middle and sweet wheeling can be had within a days drive.

my apologies for the hijack.

Just a note to show my lack of attention paid to the picture itself and to aid in identification of the problem...

The picture actually shows the swaybar mount ripped off and flipped up over the bushing.

Silly me, I must have thought it was a the top of the bracket.
