I have an 82 FJ60 with a desmogged 2F (I didn't do the desmog, so I'm not sure how complete it is). It has a Weber 32/26 on it and the bolt closest to the engine and the firewall is dang near impossible to get off and back on again. I think this causes vacuum gremlins and I'm about over it. Is there a better wrench to use for this? Right now I'm having to use an open ended wrench, down through the linkage with the throttle wide open to get any bite on it and I end up only getting enough of a turn on it to turn the wrench over and get another tiny bit. After another battle with it last night it occurred to me that maybe a distributor wrench may do the trick or maybe they make a thin walled box end offset wrench I've never seen before. If this is just a pita I'm going to have to deal with so be it, I thought I'd ask as I can't imagine I'm the only one who's had this issue.
For now, I'm not interested in swapping out carbs or anything like that. The cruiser ran exceptional when I bought it and it's just been sitting in the field for a few years now. I'm just trying to breath some life back into it as it's been about my favorite rig ever. I've been reading through pages trying to search for this as well and haven't come up with anything, perhaps my search mojo is off today. Thanks for taking a read and any advice.
