Recently took a 6 hour drive from Maine to NYC and noticed that the center console area was extremely hot and making my passengers seat almost too hot to sit in- just figured out why:

The weather tech floor liner I have is fully blocking the rear air vent.

This is the floor liner I have:

2000 Toyota Land Cruiser | Floor Mats - Laser measured floor mats for a perfect fit | WeatherTech.com

Just a heads up to those who have the rear air option and have kiddos in the back they are trying to keep warm.

Cheers!

Just checked mine after reading this and my vent is also blocked, but I don't have those symptoms.

I think you will be fine for short distances but if you have the rear heat on for hours... no bueno

Noticed the same thing with mine a week or so ago -- I may trim it some.

Had the same problem with the Husky Liners, no longer available, and had to trim it to open up the vent. Works great now. Minor issue.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't used it for a long distance drive yet, so I'll keep that in mind.

Yeah I will be trimming tomorrow- just glad it was something simple. At first when I felt the temp center console I thought something was really wrong with the car.
