Can I purchase a cargo liner that Weathertech intends for use without the 3rd row seating and simply cut holes for the seats? Or, do I indeed need to purchase the one that they specify for use w/ the 3rd row seating in place?

I ask because it looks like the latter option leaves some of the carpet on the sides and rear corners exposed.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

I have both. I ordered the one for third row seats after being told it’s the same as the one for w/o the third row installed. It isn’t. I uninstalled my third row and run the proper mat. I think you could cut holes but I would just get the mat for the configuration you intend to run.

I'm in Dallas and have the extra mat for running the third row. If anyone sees this and is around the area, I'll make you a good deal on it. It's grey.

Used the non 3rd row mat and cut the openings and layed the trim pieces on top of the mat and secured them back to the truck

Thanks for the great deal and it was fun trading stories. Will give you a call next time I need to turn a wrench :)

Mine came with one and as soon as I started using the 3rd row, it was sitting around in the back yard, so I decided to cut holes rather than throw it away. I used a factory mat for a pattern. I cut only the minimum so the carpet wouldn't be exposed.

So, just to verify, the Weathertech liner that is meant for the 3rd row still needs to have the blanks cutout? I'm just trying to figure out if they have precut "flaps" so that you can still get some protection when the seats are up.

Thanks!

My understanding is that there are two options. For third row seats... Pre cut but smaller overall foot print, i.e. Coverage

The other is full rear coverage but you need to modify the cutouts to work with 3rd row seats
