Could anyone point me in the direction of where the water temp sensor for the guage is at? Looked briefly around thermostat and didn't see a match for the sensor I picked up today. Did a search and couldn't find anything on the site.....does anyone have a pic. or diagram of location? Hopefully I got the right sensor!

Sure can!....its directly above and to the left of the oil filter. You will need a long extension and swivel socket to get it out. There is one wire plug, easy replacement.

Here is a pic.

Awesome...thanks for the help!

Ok so I replaced the water temp sensor due to the guage not working. I got the sensor from advance auto, it is an aftermarket sensor. It fit right in and plugged right up with no problems. Before, my guage just quit working....period. after install it works, but even after warming up, highway driving the needle doesn't sit where it should. It sits way low, about 1/4 on the guage.

I have done the RT temp mod, and has worked great for a long time. Is it the fact that I got an aftermarket sensor that the needle doesn't sit where it normally would, or do you think it has something to do with the guage itself?

Do you really want help this time, or are you just going to answer your own question again? :flipoff2:

Hoping I don't have to answer myself again....

Do you have to drain the coolant to do this?
I have the same problem and need to replace my sensor too.
Sorry can't help with your second question.

I didn't drain any coolant. You will lose some when you take your sensor out, a quart maybe.

I let it run a while after replacing, turned it off and went back after it had cooled down and only had to top off my over flow.

Thanks for the info. I'll do this my next day off.
