I checked the tranny level the other day and noticed it was pink instead of wine red and clear. SO... I guess I was in deeper than than I though. I have no symptons with the tranny yet, so decided to do a flush, I drained the pan then I seperated the line at the tranny cooler and fed fresh fluid into the filler. 20 L later it is still pouring out a strawberry milkshake !?? :bang: I understand that the auto tranny on a 70 has ~ 15 l so I would have thought that it would be somewhat clear by now. Ths is getting expensive at $60 per 20L drum. I purchased another 2 drums and plan to repeat the process tomorow. Any one have any experience with this?? And yes, I will put on some air lines to the vents before I do any more submarine trips.

assume you are talking about the transmission cooler that is part of the radiator...if so make sure the cooler is not leaking inside the tank allowing coolant to get into the transmission fluid.

Yes, what Elbert has said above and also it's going to take quite a lot of flushing to get rid of any moisture in the transmission.

I would suggest that you check your radiator and coolant levels.

Yes, disconnected at cooler lines into radiator to flush. The rad is oK, the problem is the driver ( me ) going into deep a water... ( I wont do that again ) In any case I purchased another two 20 L drums of fluid, I used 2 thirds of the second drum to get her nice and clear. Ill drive her again this summer and flush once more after 3 Month of driveing or so. Thanks for the feedback
