I hope this hasn't been covered before, I looked and didn't find anything. I have a '98 100 series and after using the A/C I notice a little puddle of water on the floor mat on the passenger side. Is this just condensation from the A/C stuff under the dash? Any ideas? Thanks

I use the AC almost always and I never found water inside the car. I'd try to check if there is a leak, though it may be difficult to trace.

Are you noticing the water after it rains and do you have a sunroof? If so, you may be suffering what happended to me and some other LCs I know. In our cases the sunroof drains got clogged over time which resulted in water pooling inside the cab after it rained, either on the driver or pass sides. You can unclog those drain tubes with a couple of shots of compressed air.

It doesn't seem to happen when it rains. But yes I do have the sunroof and will check that. I think it may be the plugged up A/C drain. Thanks for the ideas.

I had the same exact problem with my 2002 LC. I had it checked at a local dealership. First, they told me it was normal to have some water dripping due to condensation. Of course, that was an unacceptable answer for me. I asked them how would it be normal for a $50K LC. I demanded them to re-check it properly. Finally they told me it was the Evaporator Case Cover (Cooler) needing to be replaced. It is located under the dash. I seems easy to have it replaced by myself, if I could obtain the part, because there are just a few screws. However, I didn't want to ruin something else so I decided for them to replace it. They special ordered the Case Cover, with a price of $44.31. The labor was $212.50. It fixed the problem and no more water.

I am just now having this problem, that labor is rediculus, but would u be able to give me the part number? Thanks in advance

i put some black rtv on it to stop the leaking

I agree, RTV around the bottom quarter of the cover will solve the problem 99% of the time if the prob is a leaky condenser cover. That and checking the A/C drain. I recently replaced my cover and in hindsight do not feel it was needed. There is a thin rubber gasket that essentially wears out, not the cover itself.

Check all of the drains, remove the existing cover, seal with RTV and save yourself a lot of money. The cover comes off w/o breaking as long as you're patient. Probably takes 30 minutes. It's also a good time to replace the cabin filters and/or use BG Frigid Clean to clean the system. I installed the schrader valve on the cabin filter door.
