I'm toying with the idea of going up Jumbo to watch the Virginia City fireworks from above on Sunday. This means either taking the paved road back with everybody else leaving VC at the same time, or taking Jumbo back in the dark. Anybody interested?

I would be except Im on CALL all weekend!!!!:crybaby::bang:
Have fun though! That sounds like fun!

Had fun - we started late so we hit dirt behind the Ranger's station down Eastlake, up to the Ophir trail then north to the upper part of Jumbo. We watched from a dirt road near where the club aired up a few years back.

Nice photos!

That is GREAT STUFF!
I was WISHING that we could have gone with. I really wanted to get up in the hills for the event, but that damn hospital call.
We ended up on windy hill here in Reno and watched the Nugget wire works.

GREAT PICS.
VC looks BEAUTIFUL at night. I never realized that.

Thanks! I don't think I've ever been to VC after dark either. We'll definitely do it again, next time I'll remember chairs.
Most of those shots were several second long exposures, for the fireworks I put the camera on a tripod, set it to shoot nonstop, and walked away.

We left on pavement, I decided I don't have enough lighting to do that trail at night.
