I was bored at work watching youtube videos. I watched the video and thought wow the enginering and driving capabilities of this thing are sweet! But this idiot is not wearing a helmet and 2 they are tearing up the trails like there is no tomorrow! I guess from an enviromental stand point this is why we loose trails?

I know that none of us ONSC members (I hope) purposely tear the trails up like this. I just wanted to see others thoughts and oppions.

While I agree with Mike, it sure is fun to watch that beast rocket up the hill.

Yeah, some of those hills, there really isn't another way to tackle. Mixed feelings; hate it provides ammo for the tree huggers and tears up the land, but really it's not like an entire mountain is going to disappear from the few folks that wheel like this. It sure is fun to watch, and I can only imagine what it's like in the driver's seat.

Regardless of how you feel about what he's doing, you have to admit the guy's got a set that are undoubtedly cast from steel.

I agree with all of you. I watched a few other videos similar to this one and watched several of these buggies tear up a creek bed! I guess if u are on private property its ok? anyways just wanted to share. meatball out

Not really... My wife rubs off on me too much!

It's the responsibility of the property owner to ensure that sediment/run-off/sewage from your property does not enter into a watershed (creek, river, storm drain). You can be fined by multiple different government agencies ranging from local municipalities, counties, up to State Division of Water Quality, US Corps of Engineers, and even the EPA.

In fact this is why Tellico was closed, and is probably the easiest way to shut down ANY off-road activity of any sort...

^ and it is why the landowners of Aenta Mt. in Tennessee were hit with a fine well into 6 figures (almost 7 figures) several years ago. The EPA will hammer on the landowner. And the US Court system has ruled allowing these kind of penalties. There is a case that appeals are still being heard on the west coast concering runoff from logging roads (read future trails) being treated as point source from a water quality standpoint. This puts these roads in the same category as industrial facilities with respect to water and potentially air pollution regs.
