I use my cool box all the time and always have drinks in it. However, during the big freeze a few weeks ago a small can burst and actually broke part of the box. It's just the vent where the cool air comes in so I think I can zip tie some sort of mesh in front of it.

It's one of those small cans and happened to be lying north-south so it broke the plastic when it expanded or burst. I have no idea where the fluid went. My carpets are dry. Fortunately it was sugar-free 7-up so there is no sticky residue or stain.

Could those holes in the bottom be a drain perhaps?
EDIT: yes apparently there is a drain hole. Not in these pictures, but in the center of the photo below.

Good enough. I would have preferred a finer mesh, but this is what I had in my garage.
