Love the new LC but the warning alarm that occurs when I open the rear hatch is driving me crazy!! It sounds for about 10 or 15 seconds when I open the hatch.

Is there a way I can disable this or is this something that needs to be done by my dealer? Any help would be appreciated!!

Dave

Um....you must be hitting the lock button right next to the unlock button. You unlock it, open it, and then hit the lock button which makes that sound.

There is no sound when it's opened correctly and the vehicle is in park.

I have the comfort access function which allows me to open the doors and hatch without the key. If the truck is locked, when I walk up and open the hatch the alert sounds. It is not inside the vehicle but a loud beep that comes from the same speaker that makes a noise when I hit the remote unlock.

The only way to make it not occur is to unlock all doors first, not just the driver's door then open it. I'm just wondering if this is the norm.

If it's a *beep *beep* -- then that's the unlock sound. If it's a *beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep* for 10 seconds like you describe, then you are hitting the lock button on the underside of the hatch as you open the vehicle. Take a look: There is a flat section on the left that is the unlock button (in the center of the hatch of course). The rubber nipple thing to the right of that is the lock button. Like I said before, you must be hitting both simultaneously.

That's it!!!!! You are the man!!!!! It was driving me absolutely crazy with the long "beeeeeeeeeep"!!!!! Must have been hitting them both.

Thanks so much!!! This forum is awesome!! :bounce::bounce2::clap::clap::clap:

Just to clarify, on your first post I thought you were referring to the lock button on the remote key fob. I didn't realize there were two buttons on the trunk hatch!!

Yup, you are correct. I was not referring to the remote, but to the buttons on the rear hatch. There are two, but they are terribly designed in that they are so close together. If you don't know there are two, it can be a bit awkward. My GF does that all the time when opening the hatch -- that's how I knew that was your problem.

This is awesome! The dealer never even knew this one. Thanks!

If this is the only thing your dealer didn't know about this vehicle...then you have an amazing dealer...

I wish! They still think its a Highlander. They're really confused why I put an ARB, a winch, and a lift on a Highlander.

Lock unlock beep sound

Hello there everybody! Forgive me if am in a wrong thread. Am a newbie and need help. Already exhausted all possible search but did not hit any right answers yet. I just recently bought a new LC 200 VX TTD. I was able to test drive and select from 3 units. Unfortunately when I got my unit, I noticed that when I lock and unlock the vehicle I do not hear the normal beep response. Once for lock and twice for unlock. Same as what my other Toyota cars does e.g. Camry n Prado. And the ones I tested also have that sound. Although all other functions it does operate well like locking the doors, unlocking, beeping when a door is ajar or when the key is left inside. So I presumed there should be a setting where you can select yes or no. Can anyone help me how to reset it? I know a lot hate that beep sound but for me am used to it bec I can hv assurance that I was able to lock the car hearing the sound. Thanks in advance for the help!

There is a setting for this, but it must be performed by the dealer using a ToyScan tool.
