Warn M8000 vs. XD9000

Due to some trading I now own both of these winches. In the name the XD9000 sounds better but when you look at motor HP and gear ratio the M8000 has .2 hp more and a gear ratio 60:1 lower. To me that means the 8000 may be slower but has more pulling power. Is the M8000 under rated like the 8274? Which one is truly better?

No experience with the XD9000, but I have an M8000 on my (heavy) FJC and it has always performed well when called upon; no complaints here. Never had a situation yet where I wished I had a bigger winch.

You guys with the m8000 ever service them? If not you better. I like mine, but its the only winch I have ever had to put on a service schedule.

Mine is in my Tacoma and I have never done a thing to it...14 years and no issues.
