x2 on the FAQ.

I would think the only real issues that I would avoid like the plague are #1 - Rust and #2 - an auto tranny on its way out.

The autos are very durable, but they are very expensive to fix (so you just swap in a 5 spd).

I own a 60, but actually prefer the looks, power accessories, auto, and EFI of the 62. But I'm an old f**t. Well, I feel that way most days.

Just get an FJ Cruiser and save yourself the madness.

You will have to excuse my horrible comment. I must have had to many sweet tarts that night. I get all wacked out when those tarts enter my system.
Get a nice 62 cause the square light are the best.

NO Rust!!!!

60's are way cool. Slower than a freakin turtle though.Still I put about 5 or 6 hundred miles on mine a week. Keep a good set of tools in it if you plan on driving it that much. Don't be scared to fix something take your time, use the manual and do it right. With some pratice and reading you'll be fixin stuff like a pro in no time.Look for rust free.If nothing else don't buy rust. It's just not worth it no matter how good of deal it seems like you will pull your hair out later.Especially when you get done dumping a few grand in mods and maintenance parts and figure out that all your hard work is rotting away right in front of your eyes as you think about how foolish you were to jump onto a sinking ship to follow a lofty dream, only to have the object of desire turn on you as it takes you and you money down to deep dark depths of the bottomless sea of empty pockets, wasted time and endless frustration. If you have to save some extra coin and look a little harder to find a nice one you will be much happier and sane in the long run.
Man it's getting late.
Rob
