Thanks Peter. I don't mind buying used stuff from SOR but prefer to do MUD when I can. If I can pick one up in decent shape next time I'm there I will.

The pic is just for reference as I don't have one at all.

And yes, the Gaslamp is nice. Excellent scenery... :)

Try to keep a pretty low expectation of that mirror. The stalk is too short so what you'll see behind you is the bottom of the bed, the tailgate, and the top of the back wall of your cab.

A 2-3" adapter to extend the stalk would likely cure the problem but I haven't built one yet

The bonus though is that the mirror doesn't vibrate near as much as the door mirror... so the image of the cab and bed are pretty clear.

Thanks for the heads up legion. I won't be driving this much but am trying to piece together the stock stuff I don't have. Besides, it has to be better than nothing, right?

The jury's still out but it just might qualify as better than nothing. Even if it doesn't it's still kind of cool to see some of the old OEM stuff for what it was; flawed by today's standards but not too bad in it's time. Hard not to have that thought pop in mind when looking at the rear view mirror or trying to keep from squishing around too much on those old spring seats. Glass fuel filter bowls, a boar's nest of tie rods, all that stuff is part of the weird attraction for me.

Good luck scrounging up the old mirror, Dom.

Good Luck,
It took me a year to locate a useable three bolt for my 66, at the time the only ones I found were the two bolt, go figure

As fate would have it, I have an early 3 bolt...

Bring it with you! I'll see if I can find the 2 bolt. I think I posted here at one time.
