Anyone have one (preferably with mounting hardware) laying around that they'd like to exchange for some dead presidents? This thing here:

You still chasing your vibe??

Might I ask why? I took mine off my '99 years ago after it received a bumps on the trail, but never noticed a difference in driving without. On a work trip currently, but if I can find it in storage when I get back home this weekend you're more than welcome to it for the cost of shipping (from Florida...).

Pretty sure I still have mine somewhere, I'll look tomorrow. Wonder what shipping would be like.

Mine is still bolted to my frame rail. Unless you tell me I shouldn't, I can yank it off and give it to you personally for the price of a beer. I'm local in Portland, new to the LC world and could use a few like-minded friends.

Took mine off the day i took my running boards off, it looks like s*** down there when you look at it from the side.

I've been able to tune most of it out. I'd say it's 75% better than it was last winter. There's still a bit of it right between 55 and 60. Goes completely away by 65.

The 100s resonate, some worse than others. I disposed of mine when I moved about 5 years ago thinking that it was worthless. However after regearing to 4.88s I've encountered a vibration/resonance that I'm trying to eliminate completely. My thought is that putting this bugger back on might be the trick.

If you're willing to part with it you'd be the closest option. Name your brand and I'll trade you a sixer.

Just checked and still have mine with the bolts if for some reason Gesose can't give you his.

Consider it done. I'll pull it off after work on Friday. I'll be at the REI used gear sale on Saturday morning and can meet up around then, Sunday is shot, or I can find sometime next week during the week. If you happen to be a mountain biker I generally ride in the evenings a few times a week and can always use another friend to ride with.

I'm pretty much good with anything non-IPA. I drink cheap beer when wrenching and good beer when not. Pick your favorite and I might be trying something new, I'm not picky.

Update: Huge thanks to Gesose for sharing his harmonic balancer. Got it mounted up and, unfortunately, if anything it amplified the 55-60 mph vibrations.

Sorry it didn't work out for you Dennis. Not knowing everything you've tried and not being super supe familiar with the 100 Series yet I can't offer any help unfortunately. I know in the Jeep world (me a long time ago and brother currently) a LOT of driveline vibes come from t-case to pinion angles and U-joints. I think you mentioned you had already eliminated those as potential culprits though.

I did run into this older thread in the 80s Tech section, I'm sure some of it is pertinent. You also may have already seen this or something similar. Best of luck hunting down the vibrations, I know they can drive one crazy.

Analyzing Drive Line Vibration

It was great meeting you and seeing your truck over the weekend. Seeing the modifications you've done in person and hearing about your use of the truck, it shows that you've done your homework and done exactly what you need. Fantastic LC.

I wonder whether each balancer is weighted specific to each truck as it comes off the assembly line based on what weight is required to dampen.... kinda like a wheel weight? they might look the same but actually weigh differently.
I removed mine cause its ugly as hell and when I'm driving my 100 that's 18 years old I don't mind a little noise or vibration, reminds me I'm not driving some lame new vehicle!

if the vibrations aren't too bad I would just get rid of it and forget about it.

good luck
