I say make your own. There should be a write up in the tech section (if i remember correctly)

Is it a Diesel or Petrol Engine?
If it is a Petrol, What is lower - Air Intake or Distributor? If the Distributor is lower than the Air Intake do not bother with a Snorkel.

You should use a Blind in all water crossing no matter how shallow, Especially in a Diesel.

Do not bother making your own or buying one and fitting it yourself, Water usually comes in via the Drain in the Air box or in Joins, If you get water in you can then blame the shop.

remember snorkles are also good for cooler air, and less dust, not just water crossings. Also, you can waterproof alot of stuff like the dist.

The Toyota Landcruiser Club of Australia (Victoria) at the meeting about 5 weeks ago concluded that the Safari Snorkel is better than the Toyota optional Snorkel for the HZJ78.
