Unrelated to Land cruisers...unless you consider zombies and land cruisers to be inexplicably tied...ANYway...had to come down to ATL for a few days. At the last minute on the last night some of us decided to go out sightseeing...someone (me] suggested going out to some of the walking dead filming locations - long story short I got my pic taken with the actresses who play Andrea and Michonne...Glenn was there too but....well, he's not a kick ass girl...lol I got some dark pics of downtown Senoia GA where they're filming on a regular basis ( shots of the town are in the season 3 trailer] Both girls are super skinny...especially next to my well fed self! I'm guessing somewhere in this club are people who are convinced their land cruiser is the ONLY vehicle to have for any impending apocalypse AND who are fans of the show.

Funny I just started watching this show on Netflix 2 nights ago. Made it thru episode 3 of season 1.

Someone please explain Zombies to me. How can you get their blood and guts all over you, yet if they bite you, you die and turn back into a zombie. Then why do they eat everything in sight but there are so many zombies walking around that are whole? Wouldn't they rip you into a million pieces before you turned?

Then why are some retarded looking and can barely walk yet others can jump fences? Also if they are dead and rotting away with their muscles how do they create power to move :meh:

Otherwise I love zombies :)...pretty cool pictures. And there is no doubt in my mind that Land Cruisers are one of the best Zombie Apocalypse vehicles. Especially diesel ones that don't need batteries to run and are easy to start without glow plugs. I do think that a full size suburban with the cummins (like they are building in diesel power magazine) is probably one of the ultimate zombie vehicles.

There is only one way to watch walking dead..."suspension of disbelief" is required :D

Our cry foul was over the bag of rifles guns and ammo that Rick carries that seems to weigh a couple of pounds!

Very cool! Laura and I are fans of the show. Can't wait for season 3 to start:bounce:

I believe that the best vehicle is a diesel powered LC.

You must be new to this club and not been on here when it gets close to Halloween or this question would never have been asked of me ;)

Jason, every zombie movie (series) has different rules that apply to their zombies just like most vampires are different in every movie.

In the walking dead they seem to be adhering to the classic Romero style. In where you must be bitten and have their saliva enter your blood stream to turn and they are generally stupid and slow moving unless very excited (and even though it isn't very fast)...... this is actually the best case scenario to be able to survive.

there are others that are incredible fast moving (think "28 days later') or even able to talk (dead snow)

Sometimes if their blood or any bodily fluids get inside you in anyway (mouth, cut, eyes, etc....) you will turn.

Sometimes they are after human brains to eat other times just human flesh.... just depends on the writer.

I think a diesel powered 80 would be a great zombie vehicle...... but an armored HUMVEE would be better because you could park and sleep anywhere and if they find you there is no way they can get in and you could simply drive off and over them...... (thats my one part of the show....... with all the HUMVEE's lying around atlanta why isn't one of them driving one....... instead of an open top jeep:doh:

The only Romero movie worth a damn is the first one.... he got worse and worse since then. My favorite zombie movies off the top of my head are 28 days/weeks later and the dead

Oh and for anyone in charlotte, I know of a small independent movie theater that will be screening the new season of the walking dead for free every sunday night....

Oh yeah and I met the kid from the show in May but didn't have a camera with me.

but I did run into the guy that plays jason in Friday the 13th and got a picture of that..... I think I should play him in the next movie

Someone finally listened to me about a prison being the perfect place to stay off a zombie incursion.

strong outer fences, guard towers, super thick walls, can section off the whole place..... the bars make it easy to shoot them in the head if they do get inside.

Plus lots of land in the yards to have diesel storage tanks and plant crops for making bio.... have a fleet of IDI diesels lying around so they are simple, long lasting and easy to fix.... 12V cummins, IDI fords and chevies, MB diesels....etc

perfect place to hold up at.

We were in DC at the National Mall with around a million people when I realized, there'll never be enough ammo for zombies..so here's my idea. Boat over to the outer islands...clear it out and then you're safe....unless of course World War z zombies are swimming out to get ya.

Halloween is my huz's favorite holiday...but there aren't many around us for decorating...he and my kid dressed up as zombies to the premiere of Zombieland...so what's your weapon o zombie choice?

actually in most zombie boards and circles it is estimated that upwards of 90% of the population would actually die and be eaten before actually turning into zombies so you wouldn't have to worry about that much...... which is why I like the walking dead because there isn't 6 million zombies mulling around Atlanta in the scenes. Now if you are talking about night of the living dead where every dead person on the planet suddenly comes back to life then that is a different story and another problem all together.

An island would work but i'd feel way too cut off if more supplies were needed.

One of the biggest problems with WWZ is the fact that the author claims the zombies walk on the ocean floor which is why islands in his opinion wouldn't work. What he fails to realize is the pressure would pop a zombies head and then they would be dead.... he caught a lot of flack for that at many appearances.

They could float but then most likely would end up with the big garbage patches that are floating in the pacific and atlantic oceans......

a silenced 22 rifled and pistol would be my weapon of choice... gets the job done and silently as to not bring attention to yourself.... also a shotgun for stopping power in case you get surrounded and need to blast an escape route. Since resources would be scarce and you can make more 22 bullets than other higher caliber weapons it would also be the logical choice. But for the first few months to a year anything I can find lying on the road would work. baseball bat, machette .... but it depends on the type of zombie also.

cummins powered school bus would be great.... wasy to armor and fortify.... reliable, easy to work on

In the comic book once you die you come back as a zombie no matter what! Something that they are all carrying! Oh yeah when they killed shane he immediately came back also and was not bitten.

same as the show... actually I forgot about that part....

Yeah the show does a fairly good job losely following the comic book but not exactly so that there is still some surprises to those that read them.

Since yall seem to be big fans, I'll post pics from the town OS Senoia GA which plays the town of Woodbury.

My wife and I started watching TWD after we watched a marathon of season one. Now we can not watch as Dish network dropped AMC from their line up.

What I don't get is all the fascination with the "Zombie REsponse Vehicle" stickers. A bit over the top for my taste.

Here's the first batch - the third shows the only zombie we saw, and his back was to us. We were standing at the end of the block next to 'security' - and he warned us quite a bit not to take pics of the actual set.. The zombie stood there, theyd yell action - the zombie would start lumbering across the street, you could hear girls screaming and gunfire. Then the zombie would go back to his cue and wait to reshoot it - they probably did it six or seven times..pretty cool. I believe this was an epi with the characters of Andrea, Glen and Michonne only - because we saw them leave the set (curiously the zombies head was covered from the public - perhaps a spoiler??) The fictional name of the town is 'Woodbury' Ill post superfan girl pics to the town after they cleaned up and left too

So any signage of 'Woodbury' is related only to the show - (its actually Senoia, Georgia) I ate at the local's fave spot - a kick butt pizza parlor and they told me that the downtown area gets closed off when they film - Im pretty sure theyre filming for the February timeframe since usually theres a break until after the first of the year.

Maybe a bad time to mention this...but i SUCK at low light pics...always have...apparently ALWAYS will...so I apologize for the grainy overly noisy shots. It was pretty late by the time the crew cleaned up and I think they turn off the downtown lights to discourage photos from WD fans..

BTW, the house with the arches is all a facade, obvious from the backside if you walk around...I believe its the governors house or the townhall..I cant remember.
